Came here with family and friends on few occasions. The butter chicken is my favorite along with cheese or aloo naan. Also cannot forget the tamarind sauce to go with it. The chutney sauce is good too. Owner is very friendly and nice and the prices for indian dishes is cheap compared to places i tried in queens. Definitely will be back

Never go here, they have the most horrendous treatment to clients and food is uncooked, horrendous. It is UNCLEAN the entire place in UNCLEAN and a HUGE RISK to anyone with intention of eating in this hole in the wall in New York city, the Department of Sanitation should take a look here. The manager owner is almost menacing individual. The worse place I have been in at least 20 yrs of living in NYC. Make a note of this. We are in COVID 19 times and you will be placing yourself at rik in this so called "restaurant". I had ordered a dish and it came horrendously prepared, the rice was not well done and in general --- I refused myself to eat what they brought to me and left. They don't provide a printed receipt. Isn't this unlawful in NYC? Tax reps should visit them asap. REMEMBER Don't be fooled by the lights and TikToks about the scenery, people there are awful.

In the 80s my family built this restaurant by hand, hammering one nail at a time, dilapidated semibasement with no floor, no plumbing, only a shell. Over time it became quite popular with regular customers who became our friends. Many restaurants in nyc copied many dishes we had come up with, new recipes and cooking process. But the reality of racism and crimes took over the east village. Our family had 14 restaurants within two blocks. Residents could not withstand the prosperities we were making fulfilling American dreams. Thus all restaurants sold and we vanished as our children moved to other professions. After 30 years i returned recently to walk back to the memory lanes. Unsettling changes but ok restaurant which used to be called royal Indian cuisine at that time.

Ordered delivery from Uber eats for the first time from this place. The butter chicken tasted like Indian food from middle-of-nowhere America which is difficult to come by in NYC. The fried appetizers were flavorless and oily, this should be removed from the menu. I would pick from any other Indian place in this neighborhood. I'm saving you from unnecessary disappointment . My dinner was so inedible and flavorless I had to throw it away.

I highly recommend this place one of the best Indian restaurants still open.I would highly recommend you try the tandoori and garlic naan the chicken tikka masala is well seasoned and the perfect amount of spices.

Very colorfully lit up, playing Bali music, which is fun. Authentic food, which was all delicious. Waiter was very nice and gave us appetizers and dessert "on the house". My kids loved the real mangos, pineapples, pieces of ginger in their meals. One said, "each bite was unique, and the bites each had different flavors." Nothing was spicey, but I'm sure you could request spice.

This is why Pakistan separated from Bangladesh. Worst food I’ve ever consumed in my life. Left with lasting trauma, and will never consume such food ever again. Tried to tip themselves, and gave me a reciept that was written on paper, it was not even real, was literally made on the spot. Do not trust the bright lights or the barren landscape void of New Yorkers. Absolute disgrace to desi culture.

This place is a disgrace to Bangladesh. They tip themselves and have food that tastes like it was from yesterday. When we got our appetizers we didn’t like it and they didn’t let us cancel our entrees. And when it came to the bill they gave it written down and not printed from a machine. They continuously argued over the unfair bill and overly self charged tips. They tried to rip us off because we were a large group of kids. They even touched my SISTER that is not acceptable AT ALL!! Very unprofessional. I made videos if I could I would have posted the video and everyone would see for themselves. This place should be BOYCOTTED!! We asked to talk to the manager and we were continuously refused. NEVER AGAIN WORST EXPERIENCE!!

Food was okay. Giving it a 2 star mainly because I accidentally left my gloves at restaurant and old dude was insisting that I tip him for holding on to them? Like who does that?? Definitely won’t be back.

I’ve never wrote a bad review for any business but this place was something else!! Very shady restaurant with terrible service! Food tasted like it was was microwaved and you need a saw to cut through the chicken. Don’t be fooled by the bright lights and TikTok vids that make it seem cool. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BILL!!!

Please avoid at all cost: We had a friend's birthday party here and got tricked by a $25/person all you can eat deal pushed by the manager. I had to fight him in order to cancel this deal as we didn't even get to look at the menu. The food tastes awful especially the garlic naan. Please check your bill (handwritten/beyond recognition) carefully and be aware a 19% mandatory tips were included and expect you to pay more.

***Physically Assaulted my Family*** I never give bad reviews or even post reviews ever, but this was just awful and I have to try to save someone. Wish I could give it a 0 stars, never go here. They force costumers in, added random charges to our bill, employees tried putting their hands on my female cousin, we nearly got into a physical altercation with them because of this, poor service on top of that, food was undercooked or burnt, employees made everyone in my party uncomfortable, one person stands at the door and tries to force people into the restaurant. The receipt is what they give you us, not even an actual receipt, just a paper they wrote with random charges, with the tax and a they add their own tip, they gave poor service and then tipped themselves 20$. We were also the only people in the entire restaurant and we still had to wait over an hour and half just to get our food. Don't be fooled by the lights and TikToks about the scenery, people there are awful.

Food was good but I'm not ready to be in such a small place. Everyone else seemed happy.

Was around the area looking for a restaurant with my friend. It was around 9PM on a Saturday night so I guess it's no surprise places had long wait times. As we were walking, we found this spot, which is a hole in the wall. Typically, these kinds of places have really good food. And we were right. We ordered the tandoori wings (delicious), shrimp naan (delicious as well), and the butter chicken with rice for our entrees (we saw that this is a popular menu item so we played it safe). It was really good as well. I wanted to give this place 4 stars, but the service wasn't great. I attempted to get the attention of a few servers so I can place our order and they would either walk past us quickly, or not even come our direction for over 20 minutes. We were starving so we were a little upset, but we still remained patient. Once we placed our order, the food took about 15-20 minutes to arrive, which wasn't bad. Another thing is this place isn't the cleanest. There was garbage (napkins, bottles, kid's juice) under our table when we got seated. I asked the servers if they could clean the mess and one server just picked up the napkins from the floor and kept it pushing. This spot will have you feeling kinda cramped, but if you're in the mood for great food, and want to celebrate an occasion with a group of friends, it's worth it. Just try to come during the week or outside of weekend peak hours. I saw two big groups celebrating a birthday and they looked like they were having a great time. This restaurant also lets you bring in liquor from outside so if you'd rather BYOB, you'd enjoy this place.
