Wanted to check out after seeing a few reels hyping this place as NY's best fish spot. Felt so unwelcoming and the guy didn't seem like he wanted to either sell or make the order. When I was ready to order, he told me that he had a bigger order so he couldn't make mine. I wouldn't have minded if he told me upfront. Their fish maybe good but i don't think I'll try coming back after what I've experienced unfortunately.
Bought some fatty tuna and salmon for sushi. The salmon was spoiled, and the tuna was on the verge. After cutting the salmon on my cutting board, my cutting board smelled like rotten fish and no amount of soap, baking soda, and even bleach could remove it. I had to throw it out. It took multiple days for the smell to leave the apartment. I am never going to visit again
Good food BUT difficult experience communicating. Website menu is highly outdated, plus the guy’s really impatient.
I thought the sushi was very alright. I also came here because I heard that it was one of the top quality sushi spots despite the owner being a bit rude. I usually will understand and go back to a spot if the owner is slightly rude but the food is top notch. When we got our food back, I thought the fish was incredibly fishy in taste, it did not feel super fresh. The flavour was pretty average and just felt like it was sushi from one of those average AYCE places. Not sure what the hype is. It could be that I got the food at the end of the day, but this is nothing close to the good sushi I've had.
The best sushi I've had on the Upper East Side! Definitely need to call in advance to place your order because Roy is a one man show. The sushi is always super fresh and affordable. Aside from sushi, he also sells various fresh seafood as well.
amazing value for the quality, i got the sushi/sashimi combo and it was filled to the brim
Roy is the kindest guy + his sushi is amazing value and quality
Good food, can be a wait
Best fish around. It's worth the wait when it is busy.
The guy who works there is plain rude. Will not go there even if their fish is of top quality.

I’m Japanese and I’m a very picky eater. I don’t know why I haven’t seen this place after I live here for a very long time. Now I live little north from there but I ask my husband to pick it up after his work. Super fresh, the owner always understands what I want. I do sushi party at home, so I order bunch of sashimi and we do hand roll sushi party(it’s like a tacos party for Japanese). The price is too good and the quality is too good to be true. I usually order uni, and Ikuta a lot and still the price is reasonable. Im not that wealthy so I can’t afford $200 omakase all the time. But this place has a same quality that all these high end place offers for $! I love the owner❤️
Very bland fish with extremely small cuts and overpriced. Sushi rolls were warm and not even fully rolled together. Nigiri was the smallest pieces I have ever seen. Also the sushi chef was rude and unpleasant.
I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get over here. It’s a small unassuming place offering take-out sushi and sashimi and it’s awesome! For the quality, the prices here can’t be beat. All the fish was super fresh and the guy behind the counter clearly knew what he was doing. The rolls had just the right amount of rice. I’ll be back!
The ssashimi was so affordable and the owner was extremely nice !!
What a gem. Must have walked by 10000 times before someone told me how good the sushi is. Also a really nice guy.
