We ordered from here for my office via Uber eats because one of our employees was craving Vegemite and this cafe offers Vegemite Toast. When the order arrived, there were two pieces of toast, but no Vegemite. At first the service was kinda meh, but the manager Gabriella followed up promptly to help us out and issued a generous credit. Her response was sincere and gracious. We ordered again and the vegemite toast was great - just like I remembered it growing up! My colleagues ordered shrimp salads and malibu bowls every day for a week.

I visited around 12 noon on Saturday, and there was no reservation to wait for a table on site. The four of us had to wait for about 15 minutes, which was not too long.
The space in the store is small and the distance between tables is very small. Almost everyone hangs their large coats on the hangers at the door, otherwise the seats will be really crowded.
The menu is clear and concise, roughly divided into breakfast, burgers, pasta and drinks, as well as some a la carte items. Truffle fries are a must-order for almost every table. The fries are very crispy but I don’t like the truffle mayonnaise that comes with them. Sweet potato fries are also very popular, the sweet potatoes are sweet and fried and fluffy. You can order a burger with fries for an additional $4 and the portion is quite large, which is a great deal. The banana waffles for breakfast also seem to be a popular item. There are three large waffles in total, which are quite filling. I ordered two kinds of pasta and they were both delicious. The sauce was rich but not greasy. There were a lot of ingredients in it. The price was not expensive for Manhattan.

I had heard a lot about Ruby’s Cafe and finally decided to give it a try. With multiple locations in New York, I was curious to see what the hype was about.

While the food itself was fairly standard, it was surprisingly delicious and well-prepared. The flavors were balanced, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was also lively and welcoming, making it a great spot for a casual meal.

Little Ruby is a trendy brunch spot, but it’s more than just Instagram-worthy—it delivers on great service, delicious food, and reasonable prices. I was genuinely impressed by how flavorful everything was, with portion sizes that felt just right.

Their ricotta hotcake stood out—fluffy and creamy, yet not overly sweet. It had the perfect balance of textures and flavors. I usually assume that every popular brunch spot has its drawbacks, which is why I rarely visit the same place twice. I tend to move on, always looking for the next best thing. Little Ruby changed that. This is one spot I’d gladly return to.

Really bad delivery portions. Would never order again. Quality, quantity, ingredients etc were horrible.

Have had 2 subpar experiences. The first time I went entrées were missing elements and were cold, but the banana bread was nice.
The 2nd time I went, shockingly food was missing elements again. Got the green bowl and it didn’t have peas or salsa verde, I told the server, they brought me a little container of stone cold peas. Mediocre food, but forgetting items in an already mediocre dish makes it terrible.

Food is good. But the place is really small and can get congested during lunch hours. Wait time after ordering the food is 20-25 mins.

Update on Bolt Story:

Unfortunately, my tooth is fractured from receiving a metal bolt in my crispy rice bowl. I have emailed management asking for them to reimburse the cost of my dental procedure and nothing more. However, it has been two days and they have not responded. I am posting this so there is no confusion as to whether you have received my email or not - I will be escalating the situation and taking legal action if the situation is not resolved amicably and my email doesn’t receive a response within 24 hours.

This is a low key restaurant on the smaller side. Service was attentive and unpretentious (a tad slow, thankfully we were not in a rush). The fried chicken burger, the salads, the corn cakes (oops, I may have this title incorrect) and the coffee was delicious. I will visit again to try some of the other dishes.

The food was pretty good, decent prices, drink menu is a tad small but again issue here is one small bathroom and very limited space when you are eating you are likely to get someone on top of ur food simply not enough space for all these tables.
