Arrived early for Chicago performance at Carnegie Hall. Decided to grab a quick bite here with 2 classy gals.
Nice dimly lit venue with cozy setting. Seated at a comfortable table with leather lounge seats. Ideal for an endless night of wine & witty banter.
The salmon had a crunchy crust with a tender sweetness. The truffle pasta was rich in texture & flavor. We agreed the mussels dijonnaise had the most exquisite taste of the 3. 👍👍
A marvelous spot to either begin or end a spectacular evening in the city 🍾🍾

Rue 57 in New York City offers a delightful fusion of French bistro charm and modern culinary flair. The ambiance is both elegant and inviting, making it a perfect spot for any occasion.
The menu is diverse, featuring classic French dishes alongside sushi options, catering to a variety of palates. The French onion soup is a standout, offering rich flavors that are both comforting and satisfying. For those seeking lighter fare, the sushi selection is fresh and artfully presented.
Service is attentive and professional, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and offers thoughtful recommendations.
Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or a light bite, Rue 57 provides a memorable dining experience in the heart of the city.

The food was great, but would not recommend. We came across a dishonest waiter.
He took our credit card to pay without showing the amount and came back with a bill showing the total without the tip. When we asked if the tip was included, he lied to make us tip twice. We later realized that we had already tipped 20%.
Could name-drop but won’t.

I usually never leave negative reviews unless it REALLY is that bad. And unfortunately my experience at this restaurant was that bad. As soon as I got there, I immediately was rubbed the wrong way by the service. I did not feel welcome, and it took 15 minutes for me to even be greeted. I am someone in the service industry and this is already a huge no no. It is understandable when it’s super busy but it was dead slow. I really don’t have anything bad to say about my server. He was kind. The worst part of this is that I ordered the burger. It truly was the worst burger I have had in my entire life. I had one bite and was so shocked at how horrible it was. I couldn’t eat anymore after that one bite. I ordered it medium well and it looked undercooked. I never knew a burger could be that disgusting I was seriously surprised. It was also freezing in the restaurant. During a winter rainy day in NYC?? So wild to me. This honestly just was not a good start to my day and I wanted to leave this review because it was just so bad and I want to prevent this happening to someone else. (Like just do not order the burger seriously. )

Relaxing considering a busy restaurant. I failed to wear hearing aids but easily conversed with my wife
Excellent service, good wine, delicious french onion soup.
This was a brief snack after the ballet and short walk.

Great place and great service! The oysters were delicious but not cheap unfortunately. I’d go back here.

In light of all the great reviews, I was really surprised at how much this place sucked. So overpriced for the size of portions! Tourist trap, maybe? French dip came with not just cold soggy but MUSHY bread. Inedible. Caesar salad had no option of adding anchovies - forget authenticity but fine whatever - it was, however, supposed to have shaved Parmesan on it and I swear they put some other cheese on it. Anyone had smooth waxy shiny flavorless Parmesan before? Not me. Portions were small. Service was hurried, clearly they just wanted to take the order, plop the order on your table and be done with you. Served asked how everything tasted. I said it was alright not the best. Literally four words. She then annoyingly asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. Like, no? Bad food is a bummer but the assumption that I want to make a scene is kind of insulting. Never coming back and warning others to avoid.

A highly recommended place. You can sit looking at the river and enjoy a glass of wine 🍷 from California, one of the best.
It also has different sectors and different atmospheres.
Dietary restrictions: They have options for celiacs

This is hard to write because this place used to be awesome, however, I was there this past weekend with some clients and unfortunately, it's gone way downhill.
The eggs benedict were the absolute worst I have ever had. Period. Do yourself a favor and skip this, even though it's typically a go-to item for breakfast/brunch. You will be sorely disappointed.
The atmosphere is great, but the service is slow. Our server came to take our order, we asked for a couple of minutes to look over the menu, and then we had to flag him down after another 20 minutes of waiting for him to come back...
This place would have been on my hit list a few years ago, but nowadays, it's an absolute flop. Go elsewhere.

It has been about 9 years since I had last been to Rue 57. It's a place my family and I have always enjoyed. Our server, Peter, was wonderful, and everyone enjoyed their dishes. This occasion was special for my mom's 75th birthday, and she had a lovely decorated plate and candle with her Creme Brule dessert.
