Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with no line. Got the Super Heebster and it was so good!

Get a number after coming in! The staff were moving pretty fast, whilst having good manners. I got a toasted poppyseed bagel with Nova, plain cream cheese, and capers. The bagel was pretty nice. The Nova was PERFECT!! It wasn’t too salty, and had a very clean taste to it. The texture was also very nice. You can feel some resistance when you bite down on the sliced Nova, and without and hard or chewy tendon parts. The caper added some saltiness to the whole bagel, and gave it more depth to the flavors. The cream cheese was also very nice. It had a slight sourness to it, and made the bagel even better.

I also got a chocolate babka, and it looked amazing! They also have other pastries, and sweets. I saw assorted dried fruits in the window. Rugelach, black and white cookies, and some other items. They also sell white fish, herrings, sturgeons, salmon roes, and caviar. I’d like to try their latkes, and kugels next time!

The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. Highly recommended! Amazing place!! A true New York City gem!! I’d definitely looking forward to coming back again and try everything!

Edit: disappointed by their babka. Their babka tasted like the ones I got from WholeFoods or west side market.

Kizzy is a rockstar ??????

She got my first phone order shipped overnight to the Oregon Coast. Bialy’s excellent. Bagels excellent. Chocolate Babka beyond delicious.

Thank you for all your help and I’ll be ordering again monthly with bigger orders next time and to follow the future.

Russ & Daughters is a must-visit gem in NYC that elevates any trip to the city. No visit is complete without indulging in their renowned offerings. My go-to order is the Everything Lox and Bagel with Caviar Cream Cheese, and I can confidently say it’s the best in the city. The combination of flavors is simply unbeatable, with the lox perfectly complementing the rich cream cheese.

For those looking for a bonus tip, don’t miss out on the smoked sturgeon. It’s a revelation! The incredible flavors and textures make it an unforgettable addition to your meal.

What sets Russ & Daughters apart is not just the food, but the rich history that echoes through every bite. You can feel the legacy of this establishment, which has been serving delicious fare for generations. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, be sure to stop by and savor the amazing tastes and history that make this place so special.

We came around 9:00 am on a weekday and this place was already bustling.

Make sure you take number in order to get served. This is a takeaway only spot, but they do have a cafe located nearby if you want sit down service. Otherwise there are a couple of tables and chairs outside.

The Classic Bagel & Lox is delicious. Gaspe Nova smoked salmon with your choice of cream cheese on a bagel. Onions, tomatoes and capers are extra at $0.50 each.

I love their Horseradish Dill schmear - the flavour is subtle, not spicy at all.

They also have caviar with all the fixings, various spreads, pickles, pastries, babkas, chocolates, and candies.

A black & white cookie is a must. As Jerry said, just “look to the cookie!”

Mid…$18 for a Scottish salmon, scallion cream cheese, everything bagel, toasted. Bagel was kinda stale. Maybe my fault for going in the later afternoon. Two very thin slices of the smoked salmon…I feel kinda scammed. Especially after waiting like 30 minutes too lol

Gotta appreciate my neighborhood bagel place more where it’s $15 and the slices are thick and bagel doesn’t taste stale even in the afternoon

The first time I bit into their lox and goat cream cheese sandwich I cried on the street. Since then I make a concerted effort to stop by every single time I visit NYC. The LES location is worth the wait, the staff is a well-oiled machine and so kind, and everything they make is an absolute delight. Side note: I’m lactose intolerant and the goat cream cheese is a lifesaver.
