It is well known that cream cheese & salmon bagels are classics in New York, and I found the best ones here at Russ & Daughters! I ordered the classic: salmon & cream cheese and a beetroot drink.
A place with a lot of personality, vintage dinning room style, which was actually a pharmacy when they started.
The service is excellent, the variety is good.
It is a busy place, where you have to wait a while for a table.

The food and service are excellent! We had the Classic Board, Herring Trio and Whitefish-Potato Croquettes. Our toddler loved the classic board; the lox was some of the best we’ve ever had! Definitely will be back.

We had a great spontaneous Valentine’s Day brunch at Russ and Daughters. They were busy, we were seated fairy quickly, the place was spotless and the service was fantastic. We had the tuna melt and a classic board and bought some babka to go. We left satiated and happy. They run a great business. We are big fans.

Travelled across town on the word of a friend whilst we were visiting and was worth enduring the snow! Ordered the Lower Sunny Side and was blown away as I don’t normally enjoy fish.

Service was delightful, cream soda was the best I’ve had. Could not find any faults!

Last New York meal was here at Russ. First time eating a Jewish restaurant. Place was well reviewed so we gave it a shot. The salmon platter was fantastic. Fresh salmon. We enjoyed all of the dishes and it was a great way to end the trip on a full belly. Even for a Monday lunch, place was packed.

You spend a ton of money for small servings by gay waiters.

Been wanting to come since 2018 and finally here. Food is awesome, the environment is clean and with good vibe. We were seated at the bar and Sam not only made killer cocktails but also took great care of us, totally made our day and made this first time experience superb. Will definitely come back again to try more stuff on the menu!

Visited Russ & Daughter’s Café and, as always, I love their classic with
everything bagel. This time, I decided to try something new: the chocolate babka French toast with berries and sour cream. OMG, it was absolutely delicious! The café is clean, the staff is super friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Classic, Delicious, and Surprisingly Excellent Coffee

I wasn’t expecting the food to be anything special-just another famous place to check out-but everything was absolutely perfect. We were well taken care of from start to finish, and the service was impeccable.

The biggest surprise? The coffee—both iced and hot—was truly excellent. Not always the case at a place known for bagels and smoked fish, but they nailed it.

Food-wise, we had the Eggs Benny, the The Classic platter (which seemed to be the go-to order for most tables, the latkes with salmon roe, and the pickles. Every dish was excellent, fresh, and well-balanced.

The location is on a side street, but once you step inside, you’re transported to a warm, classic dining experience. Just a lovely restaurant all around. Would absolutely return!

Kid-friendliness: There were kids there and they seemed to be having a good time!

The salmon is very delicious and so is the cod. The pickles are well worth it.
