A good place. Super friendly and attentive staff, courteous service. Tried a variety of fish. It’s ok - not great, but fine if you haven’t tried anything better as a reference point. A shot of cold vodka was excellent. Overall, recommended. And definitely recommended over the nearby Katz’s, which was a total disappointment.

We had the most wonderful time. The best cream cheese and locks bagel I have ever had in addition to the best potato latke I have ever had. And note my bagel was gluten free, it was super emotional and amazing to be able to enjoy it at such a pivotal spot in the city. ? It was absolutely incredible and it was so special to eat and be in a space so treasured by New Yorkers and so vital to the history of Jewish immigration and cookery. So wonderful that it’s female owned. You would feel the love and care in everything from the food to the decor. The staff were so welcoming and informative and I am so grateful I got to go. The classic bagel and lox was sensational as were the latkes (added the luxury of salmon roe and it was so worth it, highly recommend!). This place deserves every star, moon, whatever award it seeks to get. I do recommend going early as there are no reservations. Otherwise, enjoy at your fullest! ✨?Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

We finally had enough of us to order a platter. If you love salmon and whitefish, you will love the variety provided on a platter. The smoke sable is so delicious; all the options were tasty and so good! Potato latkes were excellent too!

Very rude and condescending hostess, if that’s even what she was. We didn’t stay.

If you're looking to eat the best salmon bagel in NY, look no further, it's at Russ & Daughter.Everything is delicious, the bread, the salmon and the cream cheese, and divinely well presented! The staff is very attentive, which makes the experience all the more pleasant ?
I was here for breakfast... and I'd probably give this place a second chance.I took an omelette. And it was a very bad omelette. You know... in the style of omelettes, which in their evenness resemble plastic. It tasted the same...I think I should have taken something elseHistory is history, but an omelette is the base and it should be delicious))

The place is cute and authentic, the staff kind and nice and the food amazing. A bit expensive but, all the rest was awesome to compensate.
