Delicious Israeli food. Attentive waitstaff. Reasonable prices. Nice corner view with windows opening to the busy street. Plus, lots and lots of Zionists and allies supporting each other makes this extra special! I'm guessing the grandmother in question in the name is a reference to the portrait of Golda Meir. Am Yisrael Chai! With schnitzel!

While the bagels are just so so, the pastries--my god, the PASTRIES--are *divine*. The bureka, the baklava... All perfectly seasoned and made with care. They also have a surprisingly creative selection of yogurt bowls that are *beautifully* prepared and delicious to eat. Safta's is a really great addition to the neighborhood!

This kosher café and bakery is the kind of neighborhood spot that instantly draws you in with the smell of freshly baked bread, warm pastries, and rich coffee. We tried the egg and cheese on a bagel, and it was a perfect balance of chewy, buttery, and melty goodness – total comfort food. The yogurt and labneh bowls are another highlight, especially the halva crunch, layered with Greek yogurt and nutty, sweet halva for an amazing mix of flavors and textures.
