Sala Thai is a beautiful room, and always packed with people, lots of happy, celebratory people, and so, yes, it can get loud, because people are happy to be eating such well-plated, delicious food, and cocktails that are as potent as they are palate-pleasing.
While the food and atmosphere were both very good, I was quite annoyed to be rushed out after only one hour at our table, especially when they have a sign posted that there is a 90 minute limit per seating. We were not walk-ins, I made a reservation more than one week in advance.
Is always the food is excellent, but we were seated in a new space and I was unbearably hot. We asked the waitress if she could check on the air conditioning and she told us she doesn't have time for that !!!
service was very helpful and excellent .....food was great........somewhat crowded and a bit noisy but I would recommend
This restaurant offers a commendable dining experience with both excellent food and attentive service. Despite the customary 90-minute seating limit often found in bustling, upscale establishments, we found ourselves so immersed in the superb meal and pleasant conversation that we exceeded two hours. We were then met with a gracious reminder from our understanding server. A return visit is definitely in order, and we wholeheartedly recommend this venue.
Main entrees were well-prepared, well-seasoned, and ample. The one appetizer we tried - we were familiar with the others and weren't going to order them - Kha Nom Jeeb resembled the Siu Mai (shumai) served by many Chinese restaurants in NYC. Those along with the Kha Nom Jeeb taste reheated from frozen pans of Kha Nom Keeb ordered from outside vendors. If they are in fact made in-house then, as we said, they tasted like they'd been reheated from a frozen state and thus, tasted doughy and had nothing about the inside mix of meats to recommend that we order them again. Don't know if Sala Thai has recently turned over management and/or new chefs in the kitchen but the food used to always be 5-star level cooking; now it's closer to 3-4-star and we gave them 4 for now.
Great food, good service, appreciate the partition between tables for more privacy and hygiene. Noisy but doesn't that mean the food is great?
This, hands down, is the BEST Thai food I've ever had. Top notch quality, fresh - excellent service.
Sala Thai is clearly the best Thai restaurant in New York. The food was so delicious and delicate that we kept eating long after we were satiated! In fact, we could not help but express to each other how delicious the food was. This restaurant is not to be missed!
My friends and I had a wonderful time and the food was outstanding. Their service was also great and we were well cared for. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent food and service. We loved the sea bass. It was tender with incredible flavor. Great place to go before a show at the Beacon theater. Highly recommend!
I've eaten here many times and the food and service is always wonderful. I brought some friends oon one of them wanted them vodka instead of gin in one of their cockails and was told they couldn't do it. That seemed petty and was disappointing.
The service was so efficient and quick. From seating to ordering to having my food and drink in front me. The food was SO delish I would recommend the roti canal!
The service is very slow takes a long time to get the food Food is very greasy and Zucchini and carrot are not cooked when served in the noodles dish The restaurant is busy and don't have time to cook it
The place was packed, so most folks must like it. For us first-timers we were put off by the over-aggressive 90-minutes time allotment. It is not uncommon in NYC during peak dining periods but this place brings it to a higher level: confirmation with reservation, reminder from host at door, seemingly constant digital checking by wait staff roaming the restaurant, and a warning sign scotch-taped to the wall right in front of our table — looked like a 3rd grader made and posted it. Combined with just OK food and a bizarre table that had a plexiglass shield between us and the patrons at the same table (gave us COVID lockdown flashbacks)! Would not likely go back.
