My friends and I found this hidden gem well walking around EV. We were greeted with open arms by the wonderful bartender and owner of San Loco. He brought us in providing us with food, drinks, and shelter in a time of need. He curated an environment for us to thrive in, playing great music and showing us how to properly do the Macarena. If you ever find yourself in this part of town do yourself a favor and stop by this local establishment. 10/10 will be back.

That was the most lackluster burrito I’ve add in ages. I haven’t had San Loco since they were on A. Decided to try them and boy, that was a mistake. Just a basic bland burrito. And pretty small for the money.
***** Just updating my original review after receiving the owners response - I bought the “mission” burrito l, which is $14.50 and added guacamole for $2. So $16.50.
Even in NYC and Manhattan, $16.50 for a burrito is pretty pricey. In this case, $16.50 got me bland, small and pretty soulless.
As the owner mentions, I could have continued to buy add-ons. But for the price, I’d expect a tasty and satisfying meal.
A suggestion for the business owner - rather than being defensive, consider the customer feedback and try to improve.

The food was pretty bland. I ordered the chicken burrito and was pretty much rice, bite after bite. The nachos were incredibly disappointing they just threw “carne asada” on top. No kind of flavor of anything. Lower east side needs better Mexican food or Tex/Mex.
If you like basic seasonings like salt and pepper do not come to this restaurant. Worst tacos in all of New York. The rice had absolutely no taste, the beans just tasted like lime. Would not recommend please do not come. Came with four other ppl and they completely agreed.

My teenage son took me here and I was pleasantly surprised food is 10/10 I came back with my friends and service was amazing wanna thank waiter especially for saving our stroller without brakes going into street! He ran into action thought there was baby inside! This place deserves ALL the flowers

A very nice casual atmosphere. Dory, our bartender was very friendly and professional. She had knowledge of the public’s preferred menu items and was very welcoming. The food was delicious, and you cannot beat that price. We live in the neighborhood and had never tried it. I had the carnitas nachos and my wife had a taco platter. Both were delicious. Cocktails were much needed after a long day. Will 100% go again. Thanks Dory!
