Best alternative to flying to Rome. After a nice meal and a good bottle of wine, not to forget the home made peach Grappa that is being served after dinner, one might be surprised after leaving the restaurant, that you are actually on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Had a really wonderful meatball dish for appetizer and a terrific grilled branzino for my entree. Asked the server to make me an affogato for dessert which he happily did. Very enjoyable meal. Sandro's never disappoints.

Just about a perfect restaurant. The food was delicious, the wine list varied and interesting and the service out of this world. Standouts were salads (salads!) and porchetta but the pastas were also delicious and the desserts divine.

Sandro's is my most favorite Italian restaurant in NYC. The owner-family members who greet you warmly at the door upon entering, the hospitable service, the absolutely fresh and scrumptious authentic food, and the reasonably-priced wine list make this neighborhood gem a real go-to place. I cannot wait until my next experience.

We had a wonderful dinner last night at Sandro. The service was impeccable thanks to Tirso. The wine glasses had 'good pours'. The food delicious. The branzino was one of the most tasty every had and the pasta cooked perfectly. Even the homemade grissini were as tasty as could be. All in all it could not have been better. We will be back.

The food is delicious if a tad pricey. The lemon spaghetti brought me right back to Positano and the roasted red snapper was perfection. The breadsticks deserve all the press they're given and be careful not to fill up on the scrumptious bruschetta made with the sweetest marzano tomatoes I've ever eaten. Be sure to save room for the dreamy gelato in an abundance of different flavors!
