My boyfriend and I went there for weekend brunch and had a lovely experience. We ordered the vongole and an omelet, followed by cake and tea. I love vongole, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Our server was especially kind and attentive, which made the visit even better.

Chic brunch spot with a tasty selection of to-go pastries and caffeinated beverages that compliment the busy Italian restaurant. The prices are a bit too rich but given its location in NYC would somewhat expect. $14 a dessert. 4/5 stars as a brunch spot.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star
Dinner at Sant Ambroeus Madison was absolutely fantastic. We started with the Pomodoro, perfectly simple and beautifully balanced, followed by the Vongole, which was fresh, briny, and cooked just right. The Veal Parmigiana was the standout—tender, flavorful, and classic Sant Ambroeus elegance on a plate.
Impeccable service, timeless ambiance, and consistently excellent food. A true NYC staple that never disappoints. 🍝✨

Desserts looked amazing. Hot cocoa was absolutely delicious. The actual meals we had for lunch were okay. Nothing I would go back for. Might recommend for dessert, cocoa and coffee if in area (near The MET). Not for a meal but dessert.

Overall great experience, the service was fenominal as well as the ambiance. The aesthetic was very well put together and felt as decadent as the pastries and cakes that they offered. Not long after we were escorted to our table our waiter came to introduce himself and very kindly asked if there were any dietary restrictions that he should be aware of. We informed him that one of our party had a nut allergie and he was able to accommodate and when he brought over some complimentary treats to the table he made sure to point out which ones had nuts in them and which may be cross contaminated.
I thoroughly enjoyed my salad and salmon, but I was a little bit surprised that the bread was not warm and the artichoke salad had so much parm it almost didn't feel like a salad.
Overall positive experience, thank you!

Charming, festive little spot! The food was delicious, bread and jam, coffee, avocado toast, and eggs Benedict, but what truly stood out was the fantastic service.
My daughter and I were warmly welcomed by the manager, Nenad, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well seated. Our waiter, Bozidar, was attentive and friendly throughout. Great spot, atmosphere and staff! Highly recommend!

I have been a regular breakfast customer at Sant Ambroeus for several years.
On my most recent visit, I was told by the hostess that there was no availability for two hours, despite more than ten visibly empty tables in the dining area (the restaurant customarily keeps tables available).
While I was clarifying this discrepancy with the hostess, a person who the hostess later identified as the general manager intervened unprompted, raised his voice, and repeated that there was no availability. I was not addressing him. When I asked why he was raising his voice at a customer, I was dismissed.
I explained that I had been a long-standing regular but that this interaction ensured I would not return. His response was that they “didn’t lose anything”, after which he walked away.
This was not a capacity issue. It was a management and professional service failure. I will not be returning and would caution others who value basic courtesy and competent service.

This was an incredible spot. We dined while visiting New York from Chicago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was incredible, and the overall ambiance was moody, vibey, and rich. Our waitress Lina was also amazing! She gave such good recommendations, and made us feel welcome and celebrated!

This was a GREAT way to start our new York holiday. Deanna ordered the Ravioli, and I got the filet. When the steak arrived, it would have feed us both!!! It was so tender that I jokingly tried to cut my filet with my fork --- and it was successful!
We enjoyed the lively atmosphere, even on a Monday night. And the couple next to us has a son graduating from Tulane in New Orleans this coming spring ;-)
Go and enjoy. You will be well pleased.

The quality was fine and the pastries are beautiful, but for the prestige it is trying to purvey, it was unbearably hectic. We went for a takeaway order.

The always fabulous Sant Ambroeus at Madison and 77th in the UES never fails to impress. The service, food and ambiance is always top notch. The wines by the glass are a full page of options, and their aperitifs are stellar.
