Very rude staff.
Absolutely terrible experience. Couldn’t use my laptop—was told “we don’t allow that” in the rudest possible tone, despite plenty of open tables. Staff was dismissive, cold, and borderline hostile. This isn’t a café—it’s a museum of overpriced coffee and attitude. Don’t waste your time or money. Plenty of better spots nearby that actually respect customers. Avoid.

I’ve been coming to this café consistently for the past month, using my laptop to work while always purchasing drinks and food to support the business. It’s a cozy space and had become part of my daily routine until today.
Out of nowhere, I was told that using a computer is against their policy. There were no signs posted, and nothing was ever mentioned during the many visits I’ve made. It felt especially frustrating and frankly discriminatory, considering other patrons seemed to be treated differently or allowed to stay longer without question.
If this is truly a policy, it should be made clear from the start not selectively enforced. I used to feel welcomed here, but now it feels like certain people are being singled out, and that’s unacceptable.
A coffee shop should be a community space, not one that makes people feel excluded.

I’d like to share some constructive feedback, especially for the owner of this place. I came in planning to enjoy a meal, have some coffee, and get a bit of work done on my laptop. However, when I went to order, the staff member told me I couldn’t stay too long using my computer because the space tends to get busy.
I understand if there are internal policies, but at that moment the café wasn’t crowded, and I was planning to order and support the business. It felt like future potential customers were being prioritized over someone ready to consume and enjoy the space.
Because of this, I decided to leave. I truly wanted to spend time there, but the experience left me disappointed. I hope this can be taken into consideration to make the space more welcoming for all customers.

Breakfast at Sant Amobroeus is a delight. They serve a Norwegian salmon with toast and avocado that is amazing. Their drinkable chocolate is superb. I am a big fan of their pastries and sandwiches. Great if your ever in the hospital area of the upper east side, inside the Sothesby's building.

They open at 7:30am and let customers in
However once i enter by 7:30am sharp the counter display was not even yet ready by 7:30 so i need to wait for few minutes after 7:30 to display completely all the paninetti
