A trendy Italian spot next to Sotheby’s. While I was reading a short passage to my friend, the server interrupted me but apologized multiple times. I ordered the farro with mushrooms and was told it could be warmed up, but it was served cold as intended. And it was delicious. The atmosphere was nice, and I noticed many stylish people there. I liked it.

The cafe is a stone’s throw from NYP-Cornell, and if you walk into the Sotheby’s building and take an immediate right you’ll see its entrance down the foyer.
The entrance has a sign that says “wait to be seated” which I think is a little weird. Those who want counter service for to-go food and drink should be able to just enter the space in my opinion but I was approached fairly quickly so no big deal. There is a case with prepared food and a case with baked goods, although the platter of baked goods didn’t have the placards saying what each thing was (what type of muffin, croissant, etc.) and it feels like you’re annoying the cashier by pointing and asking.
I ordered my cream horn and iced mocha and for the cream horn in a bag immediately. Several minutes passed before the barista asked what drink I was waiting for… I guess someone misplaced my ticket? I also didn’t have a clear view but I wasn’t certain I saw her make it with oat milk. It’s not an allergy, just a preference, but I’d spent so much time in there I just wanted to leave so I said thank you and exited.
Truthfully if I ever wanted to “treat myself” again I would give this place another chance, and to anyone who works nearby and wanted to indulge on their lunch break the food did look good. Maybe try it for yourself and see.

Service was slow, the restaurant had 4 tables already served, the server Ronnie M is sulky and inattentive. They take the clientèle for granted as they can rely on Sotheby’s. The food was as average as the service.
Food was mediocre , a very average Baratta caprese salad, no pepper offered, no olive oil. Luckily some olive oil was poured on a side dish to eat with the dry bread I decided to ignore.

Really like this franchise. They offer a European influenced menu for beverages as well as food and pastries. Sotheby's location is great for a quick snack and beverage before or after viewing the auctions or just passing by.Their pasties are great and coffee is strong and well prepared.Great options for non alcoholic beverages available as well.

Saint Ambreous makes you feel important which is always nice. This isn’t the cheapest coffee shop but they have good coffee/tea and some other treats if needed. This location is connected to the southeby’s building and you enter through the main entrance. I would come back but not running here!
