Always my go-to place for authentic South-Indian. Well, this time the Sambar was out of the world that I had to post this on Yelp! I went for a brunch on a Sunday and had the mini-tiffin. Glad there wasn't a wait time. The mini tiffin was the best thing that happened to me that day lol! The rava-kesari, the sambar, the mini sambar idly and the dosa, were cooked to perfection and served at the right time. The crowds kept getting busier so the quality of service started going down and we had to wait a little while to grab attention.

I’ve had this in Singapore and India before but I have to say they truly make the portions here huge - makes sense for the price you’re paying but it’s overall a taste of comfort food as an Indian looking for his dosa fix. Definitely will be coming back!

Saravanaa Bhavan's Still Present Intense, Intriguing Vibe All SS's tables as we arrive seem full with very varied diners. Digest not only what food you choose to eat but the appealing personages and surroundings you see. A constant, intense searching look on one non-Indian diner's face surfaces and remains unchanged the entire time while conversing with the companion at the table they share. Two happy, smiling dining women, one mixed culture, one full Indian heritage enjoy food and the company. Interesting varied apparel reaches out; one diner bears a Cornell university jacket. What do Saravanaa diners have in common today? Serious eyes of diners spread throughout the restaurant; no one notices, connects or returns looks if you gaze his/her/their way. Everyone presents polite facial responses to each other. Ongoing chatting raises the sound level inside. Spirited, varied visages of the many diners come forth. Exciting food fully pleases and nourishes diners, freeing them to connect with those they arrived with and also glance both south and west at i interesting outside movement. Clear full windows allow sighting interesting motion from the outside world on this pre-eclipse day! A Valley View Produce truck passes by. Skinner Plumbing and Heating follows a bit later. A Saravanaa delivery person on the corner fills a delivery car trunk outside the restaurant. Bon Appetite home diners. Oh, yes, we ourselves enjoyed our favorite menu selections: Mysore Dosa, red chilli chutney spread on thin rice & lentil crepe; Mini Tiffinn, with Rava Kichadi, Mini Ghee Idilies, Mini Masala Dosa; My Onion Masala Dosa. (My senses were also intrigued by the two other dishes.) All in all, a pleasant combo and variety of dish options joined us. Wait persons efficiently cleaned tables as other content diners finished their meals and left.

My first time trying dosa, I ordered one with potato filling and milagai podi - so savory and well spiced, and the chutneys were delicious as well!

Excellent food. Ambiance is as if you are in a restaurant in India. Minimum decor. Focus more on food and prompt service reasonable price
