Such a fun experience; Looking at all the pictures. Lasagna with bechamel sauce was delicious. Manhattan were made well. Cassie was a pleasure to talk with. Can't wait to return!!!

Delicious dinner - the fusilli bolognese is my favorite go-to before theater . The portion is huge- and definitely shareable along with their Caesar salad . The cocktails are presented beautifully And perfect

Sardi's is part of a Broadway experience. Love seeing the drawings around the room. I prefer it when it is more quiet after an evening show. At dinner time, it was a bit frenetic. I had mentioned in the reservation, and again when we arrived, that we were celebrating my mom's birthday and disappointingly, there was no acknowledgment of that.

Sardi's definitely has a special history, with all the portraits along the walls. As a native New Yorker, I am not impressed by things like that, but I acknowledge their place and that Sardi's is a Broadway area legend. That said, my friend and I were disappointed in the food and the service. The antipasto appetizer for 2 included prosciutto and melon. There wasn't even one normal sized slice of prosciutto, and instead was presented dried, shriveled and obviously previously cut in small shards, amounting to less than 2 tablespoons. The pasta was fine, but unremarkable, and the crab cakes a tad greasy. Worst of all was the service. The waiters, while polite and friendly, came to clear our plates well before we had finished eating...indeed, we were chewing and cutting our food and yet they started to remove our plates. Then, we specifically ordered hot milk with our coffee and instead were brought ice cold milk. All this leads me to feel that there is a disconnect in the service that results in their just not paying attention to the customer. In fairness, we were not rushed out of our table after paying the bill, but overall, I think they can get away with these types of lapses because they are a famous location. That is too bad, because customers understandably want to experience Sardi's for its fame, but nonetheless deserve better.

For all of the 30-plus years that I've been in New York everyone told me to avoid Sardi's, so I did. "Don't go there; it's only for tourists," they said, so I didn't. Until last night when we were seeing a show across the street and needed a last-minute dinner reservation. I never should have listened to the negative comments; we had a wonderful dinner and left very happy. We started with the baby kale & garbanzo salad, had the bolognese lasagne and cannelloni au gratin, and finished with the tiramisu torte--all delicious. (This isn't haute cuisine by any means; it's just very good comfort food that tastes like someone's nonna made it.) Rodrigo, our server, was very gracious, accommodating and fast, which was especially appreciated when my husband was 30 minutes late. Were there tourists there? Of course, but it looked like there were fellow New Yorkers also, and the pre-theatre energy was exciting. I finally got to see all of the caricatures which give the room a special charm. Now I know why this iconic place has lasted so long. We'll go back; you should go too.

Extraordinary in every way. Classic New York pre-theater restaurant, made even better by a completely professional, friendly, and attentive service team. It had been a while since I'd been there, and it's just as great as I remembered. Reservation honored right away (We were about 5 minutes late, too.), and they got us out in time for our show without feeling rused.

After a disastrous Sardi's visit last year, I reluctantly ventured back last night and had an entirely delightful experience this time. Kudos to my wonderful waiter, Hunter, for his professionalism and great unobtrusive service. And another shout out to the main floor bartender who makes a really killer Maker's Mark Manhattan. I left a happy man.

Simply expected more for the experience. Food was so so. We had a salad. When you looked at the two plates one would believe that a small and large were ordered. It was the same salad. Asked if we wanted drinks. Don't bring them. Had to ask 2x. The restaurant was maybe 60% capacity when we were there. All in all. There are better places in New York to spend your money

This is a fun place to go before a Broadway show, especially at the bar upstairs. There is a bit of electricity in the air. It is fun to see all of the pictures on the wall. As for the food, it was good, not great, but overall, it is worth a trip to this iconic place.

The food was good , but way overpriced for the quality - even for New York. You go for the atmosphere and history mostly. The food is good but nothing special. Service however is very good.

Loved the atmosphere and the caricatures n the walls. Food was mediocre. I ordered a California baby lettuce salad and it was nothing except a pile of spring mix on a plate - nothing added for $16

My mom first took me to Sardi's and the theater when I was five years old. I am now retired. I have taken many people for their first Sardi's experience through the years and they always love it. Tonight was no exception! I have to have the cannelloni at least once a year! Again last night, delicious food, fantastic Broadway ambience and the best waitstaff!

Sardi's is the quintessential Broadway theater dining experience - - a great start to an evening of theater. The place is also dripping with drama and musical Broadway. The famous caricatures of famous celebrity actors adorn all the dining rooms. The mayors of nyc going back to Jimmy Walker shine over the main dining room and the intimate Sardi's bar, where you just might meet one of your favorite actors - - or critics. The food, service and drinks are excellent, delicious and reasonable.

Dined at Sardi's years ago and had a great meal. This time around it was the complete opposite. Bread was cold and dry. Butter cold and hard to spread. Onion soup was good, chicken soup was fair. My husband's pasta entree was bland and my salmon entree was mushy and tasteless. We ordered an apple crumb cake for dessert that was dry and tasteless. The only positive thing about our dinner was it was across the street from the theatre we were going to.

This is a perfect pre-theater spot. They know exactly what they're doing, the service is excellent (Madeline, you made our night), and the food is very good. It's not a hot spot and you will see an older, more touristy crowd, but I also don't think you're in Times Square for the hot spots.
