Love the vibes in here! I was in the back bar and the music was great, felt more like a house party than a commercial bar.
Drinks were yummy and unique, similar concept to DCP except I definitely liked my drinks here more. The drinks don’t really taste like alcohol, more like a mix of ingredients as a previous reviewer noted.
Super fun if you enjoy experimental drinks and great service/vibes. Would definitely come back! (Order the Muesli BTW)

We came here around 12-1AM on Halloween night and had one of the most disappointing experiences ever.
My friends and I were quietly taking a few photos at our table , literally just enjoying the Halloween vibe like everyone else. The table behind us was taking tons of photos too, but no one said anything to them. Out of nowhere, our server came over and told us we were “being disruptive” and needed to leave.
When we asked, “Are you seriously kicking us out right now?” the server literally said “Yes.” We were shocked. No one had ever told us there were any restrictions about photos or where we could stand. If that had been mentioned, we obviously would’ve stayed at our table and tried our best not to bother anybody else. Instead, we were made to feel like we’d done something terrible just for taking pictures.
We did ask to speak with the manager, who was polite and understanding, but by that point, the whole night was already ruined. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Definitely not coming back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Moe the Owner is a legend! The warmest most welcoming staff of any bar in New York ! An absolute gem in the East Village. Schmuck blew me away — easily one of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to in New York. The vibe is warm, stylish, and effortlessly cool, with just the right mix of energy and intimacy. The staff make you feel genuinely welcome, not just “served.”
The cocktails are next-level creative — every one tells a story. I tried the Larb Gai (cognac with peanut and chili oil) and the Schmuck Martini with shochu and apple brandy — both were incredible. The food is just as thoughtful — small plates that actually pair perfectly with the drinks, not just filler.
It’s rare to find a bar that feels high-end but still fun and approachable. Schmuck nails it. Whether it’s a date, a night out with friends, or just treating yourself — go!!! You’ll leave smiling (and probably already planning your next visit). I could not recommend this place enough!
