I had lunch at Selene recently and really did not enjoy my experience.Food: food was basic, dry, small portions and very salty. Very cheap wine at relatively high prices.Service: Service was very unfriendly, no new cutlery between courses, slow, ...

I ordered the ribeye I asked for a medium rare it was well done. It was one so I didn't have time for them to remake it especially since the food to go a long time for it to make. It was not busy at all we were practically the only people there.

Went during a weekday to get their lunchtime prix fixe, advertised on their website noted in the picture as $24.95 for app, entree and dessert. Waiter says it's $30, and points out the limited selection of apps and entrees on the much larger menu that apply. After we eat our apps and entrees, our waiter offers to bring coffee. When asked about getting dessert, he tells us that is not part of the prix fixe, although the website clearly shows it is. We paid our tab that reflects $6 app and $24 entree = $30 total pp (leaving a sizable tip), and left disappointed. This is wrongful advertising, and we won't be back.

We discovered this restaurant during our vacation trip to NY. It was an amazing find and we will definitely return. The food was really yummy and our server/bartender was amazing and super professional and friendly. He gave us food recommendations and the drinks he prepared were so good!!!

I thought the food and service were great, but I feel this place would be way more popular if the deco was modernized. There was of a strange smell, not sure if it was from all the fake flowers. I’m not sure if the lighting is there for events, but to me it just didn’t seem inviting. However k was really glad I tried it because food was great and the service staff were really nice, attentive and knowledgeable.

The food was amazing, particularly the grilled halloumi and baked oysters. I also got the strip steak, which was so tender and flavorful. I didn't particularly like the mashed potatoes, but my friend enjoyed it. We came on a slow night so we were the only table for several hours, so the service was very attentive and drinks were always topped off.

I had such a great dining experience at this restaurant from the minute I walked in the door with the hostess from the time I sat down at the bar. Everything was just great. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again next time I am

The food was amazing, Very friendly staff beautiful decor. I started with the steak tartare and dozen oysters. Then I had the ravioli with meat and vodka sauce, followed by calamari beautiful place a hidden gem downtown. Good drinks beautiful space. I will be back.

The Christmas brunch was bad. Horrible set cocktails you had to order, although the bartenders were very nice! Waitress was rude, food was limited and not very good. This isn't their normal menu, but this experience wasn't good.

Decent. Food was ok. Nice staff. Very dark. Turned on my cell phone to see my food. First timer. Can't say I'd go back. But try it once to be the judge.

Hate to leave a negative review, but one star is generous for this place. Only positive was the super kind hostess. Other than that, service was beyond slow, food came out wrong twice and was clearly poor quality, watched the bartender pour well vodka for our "Grey Goose" drinks... just truly terrible meal. Sat down at the table (wrapped in torn wrapping paper..?) and there was wet food smeared across. We left speechless and hungry to say the least.

My friend and I made reservations to go to Selene at 5:30 on a Tuesday. There appear to be two entrances, so if you are meeting someone, specify which street you are waiting on. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and classy.5:30 is still pretty early for dinner, and when we went they were out of a lot of things, especially seafood. It may have been the particular day we went, but it was odd. I also do not have the prices of our dishes because my friend covered the check, and I forgot to take a picture of the receipt. I do remember it being overpriced, but given the location it is not at all surprising. My friend got the lasagna, and I got the salmon. My friend enjoyed the lasagna. It was nothing special, but it did have good flavors. For me, the salmon was cooked well in terms of moisture, but it had zero flavor. The vegetables had flavor, but if you can tell from the picture, they were very charred. Finally, we decided to splurge on a dessert, and the apple dessert pictured below was the only thing they had in stock that evening. We actually did not finish eating it because it had a really odd taste. To me, it tasted like the top of a crème brulée that was extremely burnt. My friend said it tasted like something went bad.Overall, food was pretty average, and did not live up to the price point. However, service here was fantastic. Our server was extremely friendly and hospitable, and our waters were constantly refilled and there were multiple checkpoints. I think there are better places in the area for a similar price point.

I want to start off by saying the decor was amazing and into the holiday spirit. The host was also very kind and welcoming which I enjoyed as it was my first time dining here. They were having their holiday brunch so the menu was very limited. Our waiter was nice and patient, and it seemed that everyone was a team player. However, there was a young lady who came to our table at first and was very kind asking if we wanted another drink. The second time around she came saying it was last call, but I went for bottomless which is 90 minutes and we were only there for 30 minutes. She rushed us to order another drink and had a very bad attitude since then. I told my waiter who said it was meant for another table, and the young lady never came back to let us know or apologize. She actually never came by our table again and continued to serve the other tables. They should be a little more organized knowing when a table sat down.
