It let us book this location a month in advance and when we get there it's been shutdown. We didn't get any form of communication that our reservations should be canceled. So instead we ate at the neighboring restaurant after traveling 1 hour to get there.

Had a lovely evening at Sestina. Pasta was absolutely delicious, so flavourful. Great atmosphere, we sat outside as weather was so nice. Only slight issue was the service but regardless we will definitely return and would recommend to vegans and non vegans alike!

For those looking for a plant-based experience, Matthew Kenney's restaurants are my go-to. Since I rarely get to enjoy pasta due to an allergy, Sestina is definitely the way to go for sauces (like the alfredo with the SWEET PEA RAVIOLI!!!) that give you that rich, creamy and layered flavor that makes you wonder how it is vegan. Finding a good Caesar Salad is also always on my list. Sestina's gives me the flavor without the artificial mimicry that you often get with even the most expensive shelf-bought vegan caesar dressing. Big shout out also to the VEGGIE CALAMARI for giving the texture of a chewy squid and the crunch of breading without the animal itself. Only word of warning, if you're Celiac, do discuss with your server how extensive any GF pasta request may modify the original composition of the dish.

Everything is made from scratch! Except for the gluten-free pasta to avoid cross-contamination, which makes sense! I ordered the Ceasar salad, Arancini, Smokey Sugo Radiatore, and Tagliatelle Truffle. It was DELICIOUS! I thought that the prices were a bit overpriced but delicious. The arancini were one of the top ordered sides so I had to try it, but I would not order it again. Overall, it was a great experience and I would come back to try the other pastas.

Our server was so lovely and sweet to us. Best birthday present ever. Truffle pasta for 18 dollars? I feel like I might as well come back next week after that too! 100% new favorite place.

Food was delicious but portion was small and didn't offer enough protein on each dish to be satiated for long. The Truffle Tagliatelle was our favorite out of everything we tried. The Limencello waffles were the least favorite because of the hard texture. We expected softer and chewier waffles. The service was great, not sure if we'll go back based on overall value.

Good vegan pasta. The Caesar salad was very good. Also recommend the garlic bread. I didn’t love the pasta that I ordered because of the olives, but all of the other pastas also sounded very good. It’s nice to be able to go to a vegan pasta place. Nice selection of drinks and wine also.

The service was excellent: our waiter was friendly and returned several times to see how our meal was. We had a quiet outdoor seat with a heat lamp over us, which made the cool evening very comfortable. The food was disappointing, lacking in flavor. I was surprised because I love Double Zero, also owned by Matthew Kenny, which I love. However, at Sestina, neither my date nor I could taste truffle in the truffle pasta or pistachio in the pistachio gelato. There were very few mushrooms in the mushroom ragout, which belies my understanding of spirit of "ragout". I understand times are hard during the pandemic, however, $9 for a scoop of tasteless pistachio gelato was not "cool". Same for the pasta which was $18 for a relatively small service. I tend to be easygoing at restaurants, so this review is not typical for me. I hope the management see this, so improvements can be made. This is no reflection upon Double Zero, which is next door and one of my favorite places to eat.

We are in NYC for my daughter's birthday. She is a vegetarian and so I chose Sestina based on the menu and the ratings. This restaurant did NOT disappoint. We had a mocktail and a cocktail to start (both beautiful and delicious), shared the Caesar salad which was savory and perfect, and then the truffle tagliatelle and the pesto. Both amazing. Service from everyone was friendly, down-to-earth, and attentive. Huge thumbs up and hope to be back again!

The food was so delicious! I had the rigatoni, my sister enjoyed the ravioli. The drinks were delicious, the appetizers were tasty. We had the pistachio gelato which interesting had a drizzle of oil and crushed pistachios as a topping! Unusual, but really added to the nutty flavor which I could appreciate. I loved that it was a fully vegan menu, flavorful in a nice location with pleasant ambiance. Would gladly go again.

We had the big salad to share then I had the truffle pasta. The salad was nice and fresh but not particularly interesting. The pasta lacked punch in the flavor. The servers were attentive and friendly. I would not go out of the way to recommend the restaurant to a friend but I would discourage any one to try it either.

Our server was really bad. We sat for over 10 minutes when we first arrived without water or a greeting. When he took our order, he didn't bring our drinks until after our starters came and we asked if we were getting our drinks. We had to ask for water twice and were sitting outside which was pretty warm. Our garlic bread was still cold but the rest of the food was really great. The restaurant wasn't that busy and it just seemed the server wasn't paying attention. I usually have a great experience here and we would have stayed longer but decided to leave to another place based on the experience.

Sestina was such a surprise! I’m very picky when it comes to vegan pasta dishes, but they were pretty good! We started off with the Arancini, which was my favorite dish of the evening. The sauce was great with the garlic bread and the filling was so yummy. I got the Tagliatelle Truffle, which was super creamy but could have used a bit more soft. The Sweet Pea Ravioli was also ordered and the texture was wonderful!

We sat outside on the Fourth Avenue side as it was a beautiful summer evening. The food was wonderful. The arrabiata rigatoni was excellent. Exactly the right amount of spicyness. My girlfriend had the ravioli and it was equally tasty. The new world old fashioned was delicious.

The servers were really nice and the garlic bread was good, but I was shocked when my sweet pea ravioli came out. There were only seven pieces despite it being labeled as an entrée. I literally had to eat dinner somewhere else afterwards because I was still hungry
