Poor service… don’t like young people…
They didn’t seem interested in young diners… wanted to turn our table quickly! (ordered wine they didn’t serve us) Asked waiter what his favorite pasta was… response was “the special” and proceeded not to read our specials 😭🤣 after we had asked what the special was … for only our table… as we could gather.
Disappointed to leave a bad review. UES local, I thought food was ok, price ok.
Pasta was really good, chicken dish I didn’t care for.

Food here is amazing and a true UES staple. It’s in a perfect location and the staff will always make you feel welcome. The quality of the food is spectacular. Sette Mezzo is one of the only restaurants in the city that is consistently delicious while offering great service. My favorite dishes are the linguini and clams (as seen in picture), the ravioli, and the risotto. Daily specials here are also available. My favorite desserts here are the cheesecake and the tartufo! You won’t regret coming here. You will only regret not coming in sooner!

Can't go to an expensive restaurant and then complain that the bill was high - but you can complain about being fleeced. We asked for some olives with our bread. They added a few pieces of cheese. Charged us $25 Minestrone soup ..broth w some veggies $25 for a small bowl. I have been going there for 15 years. Will never go back. I dont need to be screwed at dinner

After an evening at the Frick Collection, my friend and I stumbled on to Sette Mezzo. It had been a very hot day, and we were in the mood for very special summer dishes. My friend was craving for Melone e Prosciutto, and all I could think of was to have my favorite summer dish: Vitello Tonnato which is a cold dish of thinly-sliced veal covered with a rich, creamy tuna sauce with capers. Neither dish was on the menu, and not many restaurants offer Vitello Tonnato. Our waiter, Diego was just wonderful, cheerful and accommodating. The Melon and Prosciutto dish was absolutely delicious, and the Vitello Tonnato was perfect. Kudos to the Chef! We certainly will go back to Sette Mezzo.

Wonderful expensive Italian place. Spaghetti with clams was outstanding. Tira misu was great.

Other than the tables being a little tight and small, the dinner was exceptional. We will definitely be going back there. Fresh mozzarella appetizer was amazing. My wife’s Bronzino was great. My chicken Parmesan was very good. And they have a great wine list. Oh, and I forgot to mention that that bread was phenomenal.

Restaurantji Recommends
Probably under new ownership they’ve changed quite a lot of things. The service was adequate. The food was horrible. The fried calamari was like toasted cardboard, and the Cacho Pepe was terrible. Fortunately, the wine was very good and the company was superb.

Very good food and great service.
Loved my penne dish
The sette mezzo penne was amazing
Just an excellent meal. Broccoli soup. The chicken patanato is a top 5 chicken dish in the city. Excellent.
Authentic cuisine, just-right service make this boutiquey east-side intimate restaurant a wonderful evening.
