Bruh 1st I want to say that these Aunties and Uncles are very very polite and welcoming. I had found them on Yelp at 1st ordered 3 rice balls ?(spam/mayo, kani/mayo, tuna/mayo)and the chicken curry katsu. Awesome ? can’t even describe this food. I went again today and got Kani/Mayo rice ?, Katsu Sando (chicken) also they have these frozen ice cream type fish things ? shiny aomori and finally kimchi. The atmosphere to me and the way they treat their customers is beyond astonishing. Awesome food awesome service and a variety of other imported goodies. I highly recommend this shop ???

Favourite neighborhood spot! Loved every dish I’ve tried here, but the onigiri is particularly great and convenient to take to the airport picnic etc. service is very friendly and the best place to get my vegetable shop!

Recommended by a friend and WOWWWW!!! This place is SO good. I ordered the pork katsu curry and a tamago onigiri - both items I've never tried before in my life. This was a 10/10 experience.

I was so happy to discover this place in my neighborhood. It's easy to miss if you're just walking past but worth a visit. Despite being very small inside, they stock all of the basics you need for japanese home cooking, plus a bunch of snacks and frozen foods. They have top quality hard to find fresh vegetables like massive daikon and gobo. They also have this amazing yumepirika rice from Hokkaido that I have become obsessed with. The rice section alone gets this place 5 stars in my book. I'm honestly shocked at the variety they pack into the small store. The fresh food is good too, my favorites are the oden and the onigiri. The ladies that work at the checkout counter are also super friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area

A friendly neighborhood Japanese supermarket that also offer traditional hot dish such as katsu don, curry, and udon. The cashier was sooooo nice and its such a pleasant experience especially in big city like NYC. Hot entree is about same price as sit-down restaurant but quality and quantity makes it ok. Grocery is pricey compare to other Japanese grocery though enough selection if you dont feel like making a trip downtown to other similar stores. Overall will come back again if in the area.

Amazing restaurant / grocery store owned by a very friendly Japanese family and the service is excellent the ambiance is very cozy. I come here at least once a week for dinner. My favorites are the gyudon, misokatsudon (pork), and all their freshly made onigiri. Everything is cooked to order and delicious. I will continue to support them with pleasure!

I really love this restaurant and we used to order atleast once a week. Unfortunately, a recent change to the meat used in the chicken katsu curry rice has been really disappointing. This dish, a staple in our home, is something that we don't order any more. Our entire family, kids and adults alike, used to love this dish when it was cooked with chicken breast. But now that it's made with thigh, it's often chewy and gristly and hard for my kids to chew. I've recommended this restaurant, and specifically this dish to so many! Please change it back to breast so I can go back to ordering it for dinner once a week. Or atleast give customers the option of thigh or breast? Side note, this restaurant has some of the nicest owners in NYC. So many other good dishes on the menu, but really miss the old chicken katsu curry rice.

Love this place. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. As soon as you walk into the shop the food speaks for itself. The aroma is very inviting and hits all the senses. I had the spam of onigiri and spicy tuna onigiri. The SPAM IS MY FAVORITE. Also got the chicken katsu curry rice. Chicken was fresh and perfectly crunchy. The curry was delicious. If you're looking for a great spot and great service, this is it.

spicy tuna onigiri is the best!!

Excellent chicken katsu curry. The curry is buttery, and nicely spiced. The chicken is crispy. It's on par with places I've tried & liked in Japan. I enjoyed the default spice level but those used to western standards may find it unexpectedly spicy.

Very kind staff, delicious onigiri, nice range of items you can’t find at nearby grocery stores

What a pleasant surprise! Everything was made to order, so while it took a bit of time (~10 minutes), everything came was piping fresh. The takoyaki and curry pan were both really yummy. They have no seating, but this would be a fabulous stop for food before heading to the park. Note: the curry pan was more like a fried curry cutlet tha a curry bread
