I’m a Persian American originally from LA and this is one of the best Persian restaurants I have been to. I am so impressed with the original recipes of the food and the ability to train the cooks to maintain loyalty to the original dish. The ingredients they use are high quality. My dad is an excellent cook and when I eat at Shiraz I feel like I am eating back at home. I should also mention I am a vegetarian and really appreciate the new vegan options - the gheimeh (vegetable stew) is a must. And the saffron ice cream — it’s what perfume would taste like if it were edible. The jazz band (with the clarinet) also created such a nice atmosphere. Bravo ? ? and thank you for bringing such high quality to nyc!
Me being Persian: this is my honest review. My recent visit to Shiraz left much to be desired. Despite high hopes for an authentic Persian culinary experience, the reality fell short. The chicken Soltani, touted as a highlight, disappointed with its tough texture, while the Kubideh was remarkably dry, lacking the succulence expected of traditional Persian cuisine.Adding to the disappointment was the subpar service. The staff exhibited a discourteous demeanor, leaving a sour taste in what should have been a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, this visit was a one-time affair, as the combination of average food and poor service does not warrant a return visit.

Short review: I didn't actually eat much here, as I had an extravagantly expensive work lunch earlier that left me waddling like a penguin, and then a ridiculously lavish work happy hour. I *did* try a couple of bites of my friend's Ghormeh Sabzi--my favorite Persian stew--and it was scrumptious. But mostly, I remember our drinks: - Call Me Honey: Sweet, just like the apologies I had to make to my liver when I went home. - My Heart Is on Fire: Tasty and perfect for pepper lovers - Mediterranean Mule: Spiced and spicy, like a certain 1995 world-dominating girl band. - Persian Queen: My favorite of the night. - Love & Poetry: More like love and regret at this point, but I had a good buzz going and this came with cinnamon. - Paris to Shiraz: Maybe the only cocktail dud. A bit too bitter and a bit too boring compared to all the other fun libation creations. Will come back to have a proper dinner one day.

The Mirza and Kashk Bademjan are delicious, we ordered Divan which was a big dish for 4 people, I recommend lamb shank of this dish. The saffron ice cream is one of the best in the U.S.It’s Ghormeh sabzi was too sour; the Gheymeh was not the one that I expected!
