Love this place. The menu might not be as big, the place might not be the same, and Kenny has sadly passed. But the food is still great amd delicious, the menu is still a list of crazy named dishes, and the Shopsin family still runs a great place to eat. Just don't bring more than 3 others with you.

The host was super friendly! The waitress was the same gal I always see while I'm there. She's quiet and lovely. The food came out quickly and it was very good. I ordered a cheese and onion omelet with veggie sausage. I would definitely suggest giving this place a try.

Had the triple play (3 pancakes of your choice for $17). Took the coconut, cinnamon, and mac & cheese. Best were the cinnamon, mac & cheese, and banana that my friend took. Cool place, friendly staff, recommend for those looking to try unique pancakes in NYC

An exceptionally fun menu. More importantly, I’ve yet to have an option that is less than magically delicious. You know place is good when the worst part of the experience is waiting for seating

I never write reviews, but feel like my experience today warrants one. We came in as a party of five, unaware of their no-groups-over-four policy (poorly posted in tiny print). Instead of explaining it politely, the staff were rude, dismissive, and treated us like we were trying to start trouble. Even after we offered to split into smaller groups, they refused to seat us and escalated the situation. I understand a policy is a policy, but there was absolutely no need for the staff’s hostility.
Located inside the Essex Market you will find Shopsins. The menu is extensive. If you love pancakes this will be your happy place. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Incredibly rude employees and not accommodating at all. Are extremely strict with the “only parties of 4” rule. We had a party of 4 and a BABY. An 8 month old baby was with us and they said it was their policy and how they do things. Who do you think you are. Racist and inhumane. No quality of food would be able to make up for this. Never eat at this place.
If I could give this place 0 stars instead of 1, I would. Never been to any place like this in NYC all my life.

New York institution, which from a documentary and later cook book led to this new site from the original neighbourhood cafe/restaurant.

It's ok! Nothing special!
The pricing is ridiculous. 3 pancakes $17, 2 over easy eggs $7.75 and it includes a $.75 Egg Crisis fee. 4 pieces of bacon $6.50
Self Service coffee was great !

Found some sloppy Joe’s and pulled pork in Les. Very yummy
I love it here, I go every couple of weeks. The menu is huge but my favorite is the Mac and Cheese pancakes, I’ll usually get those plus try a side I haven’t had before or get a milkshake.

Amazing service. Got the Bubba, cornbread was fluffy and sweet and the shrimp was perfectly fried. The eggs were perfectly soft scrambled. The star of the service was the service though, the waitress was an absolute sweetheart and had great energy.
