It was my first ever cheesesteak so I’m probably a bit biased, but it was very good! Put an order in online for pickup and it was ready when I arrived (even though I was 10 minutes early). Friendly service too.

My husband was so excited to give shortys a try. He ordered the classic Philly. It was just okay. The cheesesteak only had cheese and onions. The bread itself is DELICIOUS! Reminds me of New Orleans French bread.

Shorty's makes the best cheesesteak in Manhattan. The bread is so good and rivals anything I've had in Philly. This is their cheesesteak hoagie. The only downside is there's no place to sit and eat. I guess when your food is so good, you don't need to provide tables and chairs.

Shorty’s makes a mean a$$ steak sub (or steak alternative). GO you won’t regret it.Also the fries are incredible! New location is fab and in a much better area.If you want a belly-warming, feel-good meal; hit this place up. Or grab a cold beer and enjoy before a show. Fabulous.

A basic storefront for grab-and-go with only a little counter space by the window for eating. They're fast, like my cheesesteak was cooked to order in about 6 minutes. And it was very hearty comfort food. Mozzarella Triangles: If you're going to eat a cheesesteak, you're not trying to be healthy, so might as well go all-in. These are an excellent side dish so you can have more cheese with your cheesesteak. And the triangle shape is actually much better than a stick shape because you get a higher cheese-to-breading ratio. Plus I liked the marinara sauce, which was quite chunky, so I could scoop up a lot in each dipping. Original Cheesesteak w/ Whiz & Fried Onions: I'm not from Philly so don't have an expert perspective, but can tell you this was very satisfying. Just the right amount of steak and Cheez Whiz to pair with the chewy bread that was a little crusty on top. I thought about ordering extra meat, but glad I didn't because that ratio is key to having a balanced sandwich. The steak was thin cut, not gristly at all and seared nicely. The onions were cooked well until brown a bit so that added a nice umami. And, of course, the Cheez Whiz is essential because it adds both the cheese flavor and all the spices that are in Cheez Whiz, such as Worcestershire Sauce and mustard, making it superior to other cheese choices.

Have loved Shorty's for years! First had them on the East side, then noticed the location behind Port Authority but the area wasn't the best. So happy they moved up a few blocks and hopefully negotiated a better rent! An incredible steak sub, or chicken steak (my fav). The fried foods are so good too. Especially the Italian fries! This is such a good, heartwarming meal to order for movie night in. Keep up the great work, Shorty's!

Their subs are small, greasy, salty, and lacking meat. There are much better and authentic Philly style cheesesteaks in NYC to go to. Skip this place.

Excellent Cheesesteak! I got the original with Cheese Wiz and extra Mayo. It tasted fresh and only took them 7 mins to make.

They don't really follow instructions when you order online. The food was just okay... just way too much bread.
I thought I was going to the same establishment that was located on 86th Street and 1st Ave jokes on me. The original cheesesteak I ordered was Bland with whiz and grilled onions. This it unfortunate because the 86th street location was good enough to make me a returning customer then I tried this location on 43rd & 9th Ave and it was not over or under just whelming.

The product delivered was great. The delivery system is BROKEN! I have ordered twice from their truck in Queens. The reason this is posted here is that the phone link that DoorDash gives for the truck is this location. Both times ordering, the delivery person called me and expressed confusion over where I was located- citing an address miles away. Both times I had to call the 9 AV location to sort this out. Both times it took double the delivery time. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

This location is CLOSED. Went by this location a few week ago and saw the Liberty bell sign was missing. I walked to see find a for rent sign in the door.

I expected this place to be more of a sports bar than a pure bar. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this watering hole places a strong emphasis on the bar vibe, with a strong selection of beers and some high quality eats to accompany them. Yes, there are about five flat panel TVs screening various sporting events, but with the volume down low they provide a pleasing diversion and are by no means intrusive. I had a great time at Shorty’s and my friends, who know the bar better than I do, swear by it. I would certainly return to this place for a drink or a meal.
