I admire this restaurant a lot. there is a nice ambiance. The cuisine is tasty. the service is dynamic and the personel is trained. The cost is honest. I definitely recommend.

Very well kept and welcoming place. They offer big meals and for affordable prices. I enjoyed the meals a lot and the waiters were very welcoming and chatty. Highly recommended.

I certainly enjoyed their dishes and service, awesome area very close to my apartment. The staff members are always super nice. Will visit here again.

Food and atmosphere is good. Bill was 200$ I put a 15% tip and put 230$ as total. They billed 250$ to my card. Same for my friend. So it does not look like a mistake since it can’t happen twice. I do not know if it’s at management discretion or the servers just “bump” your bill. It is very easy for customers to miss small amounts like this but this is very unprofessional. I hope more people notice it and report this restaurant.

Great food and good service. Among the best in NY...

Everything about this place was flawless! It does not require anymore explanation! I and my husband had such a wonderful birthday dinner at shun nyc! Highly recommended for the celebration night!

I thought the food was incredible. The presentation and layers of flavor were astonishing. However, the issue started to come when I was served a bread that caused some allergic reactions in my throat and mouth. When I asked the bread server if buckwheat was an ingredient, he simply walked away. I thought to myself that this is unacceptable. Firstly it was our birthday/anniversary and the reviews I got for Shun was the reason I chose it. Secondly, if a customer is having an allergic reaction, how is it okay to simply walk away? Our main waiter came to us and said there was buckwheat served in the downstairs restaurant and “possibly” might have been buckwheat residue in the air. He then proceeded to tell me that I should have notified the restaurant of this.. At this point isn't it more important to try and see if I am okay instead of trying to flip the blame? For a very expensive and high quality dinner, I couldn't believe the lack of professionalism. My girlfriend did not want to ruin the night so she asked me to simply try to let it go. I was lucky that I took a small bite of the bread because it could have potentially been very dangerous. For a 525$ dinner, I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the experience and it felt like a robbery. It is a shame because the food itself was excellent. If possible, I would like to speak with the manager but hopefully the review will speak for itself

The most amazing food we ever had! So innovative and a world of flavours. The chef ran the Robuchon restaurant in Tokyo for many years and has taken his finesse to a new level. Beautiful plates of an array of tastes. Light and sumptuous. Each bite a new discovery. Highly recommend and it deserves top stars. The 4 unique breads were also to die for. Each specially baked and arrived hot out of the oven. The next top wold chef!

Just fabulous, decor, service, food, best of modern, beautifully presented but essentially traditional French food...at it's best!! Went there by accident, loved every second of it and then realized that the Chef Alain is a disciple of J. Robuchon.... The Master. Perfection....a MUST and a First in NYC....BRAVO

Exquisite French with Japanese influence. One of the finest meals around and we eat out very very frequently. We put this as a one of the five best restaurants in NYC. Yes, expensive $145 pp for the 3 course tasting menu. An amuse bouche, fantastic breads, great intermezzo, and after dinner treats, you no longer feel hungry, but well fed, great wine list, but expensive. The champagne selection is the best in town. Areal treat for a super dining experience. Plus the venue is beautiful and spacious, on two floors. The upstairs bar is the prettiest place and quiet.

My fiancée and I just love inventive food and antmosphere and Shun delivers at a level we haven’t seen yet in NY and we’ve tried a few of the best (e.g. EMP, Stone Barns). Run to it before they get their Michelin Stars at the end of the year - there is no doubt that they will!

The place is first-rate and broad, the menu was enchanting and the rates were very inexpensive. quick, efficient service and very personal staff. I recommend this place.

The worst Michelin experience ever. We made a reservation at 8:45. We waited until 9:10 to be seated. Nobody even came to explain what happened until I asked them. The food was normal. The bread was really good though. We were sitting on the second floor and it was so freezing cold that I got a headache right after meal. Avoid this place. Not worth it.

The taste and visual presentation of the meal is Michelin Star caliber. I'm sure they will be honored with the star this year! I will return to see how they interpret each season with their outstanding menu
