Thank you for accommodating a large party- I brought some coworkers to this restaurant and we found the atmosphere to be perfect: sleek and relaxed but not too moody or sexy. (whew!)

However, this meant that we had to do the family style tasting menu. Overall the food was interesting and tasty, but I noticed that a lot of the other signature dishes folks really like were missing from this menu. Memorable appetizers. All other courses were nothing to write home about.

Lovely, but pretty innovative and not for everyone. Great service, food and atmosphere. Best to share.

We chose "Just Trust Us". And our trust was rewarded.

Part 1: The Scallion Puffs were flaky, bite-sized rolls of divination. The Moo Shu Mushrooms made my fungal fantasies real. Hell, even the Deviled Tea Eggs felt angelic (see what I did there?).

Part 2: Our Fluke Crudo was a lovely marriage of tart fish and puffed rice. The Honey Walnut Shrimp Toast should be patented because who else has figured out that kumquat and trout roe go PERFECTLY with it? Even the very basic American Wagyu Bavette was all that jazzed up with chrysanthemum and furu.

Part 2.5: Technically part of "2", but this dish deserves its own line. The Late-Season Mogwa Salad: What the actual fudge is this? It was greener than Scrooge McDuck's money pile. It was crunchier than the first kettle chips out of the frier. It was more savory than late-night tonkotsu ramen. I loved so many things about this unassuming bowl of veggies that I wanted to lick the bowl when I was done (but abstained due to the presence of polite company).

Part 3: Coconut Panna Cotta. Don't be fooled because she may seem like your typical selfish, back-stabbing, fruit-faced, sno-bag, but in reality, she's so much more than that. She comes with sour apple granita and coconut crisp, and goddamit, I would let her Burn Book me every day if I could just have more.

I'd always avoided Silver Apricot because I'd heard it was an overpriced, underwhelming Chinese fusion spot that was a less hot version of Figure Eight. Those rumors are wrong. I'm glad I splurged. And don't ask me why I incorporated Mean Girls into this review. I'm still dreaming about that panna cotta.

Fantastic. Weird foods that are delicious. Tofu in the sauce for cucumber? DELICIOUS! The fish was spicy and wonderful. My only complaint is the wine by the glass were very small pours. Very small.

It's easy to put labels like fusion or new asian American it's different when you see and taste and feel what it all means, and that's what I found out in my first bite. It's either scallion pancake elevates into French pastry, or tartare acts like dumplings, something different but they also feel they should be together for a long time. It's a magical flavor.

Believe the reviews: This place is not worth it. We would have been happy to pay for small plates of delicious food but everything our party of four foodies ordered was mediocre to terrible. Including the “acclaimed” scallion puffs. Our server was lovely, but that was the only good thing about our meal. We also tried the bavette, pork ribs, wagyu tartar, shrimp toast, mu shu mushrooms, noodle dish, and clams. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Incredibly overpriced and small portions. It all was quite bland and didn’t have much flavor/spice. More American than Chinese influence. Nothing was memorable. Very mid food, incredibly expensive. Paid $45 for chewy wagyu and $40ish dollars for a 4 oz. piece of flavorless fish. 1/5, never coming back

The service at Silver Apricot was unexpectedly poor. When we arrived a bit early, the receptionist asked us to come back in 10-15 minutes, which was fine, so we went for a walk around the neighborhood. However, she seemed annoyed when my husband informed her that we were waiting outside. She later realized her behavior was inappropriate and came back with a big smile to escort us inside. Our waiter was okay, but at the end, he gave us the wrong receipt with a higher charge, which my husband noticed and asked to be corrected. The food was fine, though not memorable. Perhaps if the service had been better, the food might have tasted better too.

The food was salty and greasy. The best was the fluke, which was raw and didn't need much preparation! The service was not welcoming and genuine. They mixed up our bill, and I had to correct them as it was $100 more. They come with the card reader at your table with 20%, 22%, and 25% tips as options. For the service and the price of the food, it's too much!I always found it uncomfortable to see a waiter waiting next to me looking at the tip you were leaving.Melanie was rude at the front. We had a reservation at 8 pm. We arrived 20 minutes early. She told us it would take 10-15 minutes for your table to be ready. We told her we would walk around and come back. We walked the neighborhood and came back. I was not sure if she knew we were back, so I went inside to tell her that we were outside in case she found us. She replied angrily you're early, and I will let you know once the table is ready. I was shocked by her attitude!

Was looking forward to eating at a NYT critic’s pick by Pete Wells. We couldn’t order anything raw or had pork in it because of our personal food restrictions, which restricted our options. However, out of the 6 dishes we got, overall the food tasted underwhelming for how much we paid. We had the scallion rolls, spring custard, turnip cake, crispy rice, and the mushroom dish. The best dish was the scallion rolls but even then I think it was over priced. Disappointed that the taste didn’t match the ambition behind the dishes.Good service though. Staff were friendly and helpful and checked on us frequently.

Fabulous! We tried the tasting menu and every dish was delicious. It's a cozy/intimate vibe so it's great for a date or catching up with a friend. Service was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Honestly so expensive for what it is. The food is not great aside from the scallion puffs and the service makes it even worse. My server was so condescending and made us all so uncomfortable. Pity. I really wanted to like this place :/
