I got an olive bread. It was over mixed, under proofed, largely flavorless boule shaped loaf that was reminiscent of the textureless bread we tried and failed to make in college. I don't mind paying artisanal prices for great bread but supermarket bread, such as Dave's is by and large better a superior loaf.

GREAT neighborhood bakery! We got the California morning bun and it was so tasty. All of the bread looked delicious as well. Probably not the spot for croissants, but great for bread and other baked goods.

Chocolate chip brioche was as dense as a brick. Lemon loaf had no flavor and was on the denser side as well.

I bought the small sourdough boule ($9.75) and I was hoping for something amazing given the price. Total disappointment. Dense, tasted almost half-baked. Something is off with the recipe or the baker’s ability (or both).

A fairly standard NYC bakery with fairly standard prices (so a little expensive). Buns and other treats start above $4 and go to about $5.50. They’re not bad at all, and I’d happily come back and grab stuff in a pinch next time I’m around.

Fair quality of bread. But I didn’t like the pretzels. They were more like a regular bread than being chewy. There can be some lines depending on the time you visit.
No seats. Take out only

To Owner, please see the photos I took. Maybe it was berries tart. Hope you addressed the issues. (Updated in September 2024)

I recently visited silver moon bakery and decided to try their strawberry tart. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The tart had a strange taste that reminded me of dish soap. It was so unpleasant that I couldn't even finish it. This was really surprising and not what I expected from a bakery with such a good reputation. I hope this was just a one-off mistake, but I won’t be ordering this again. Also it was pricey compared to other bakeries around here.
Also their floor was very messy.
Fantastic tarts! Bought two for my father’s 60th - a pear frangipane and a mixed berry - and was told by all to leave a glowing review!

Some of the worst baked goods in NY. I live a block away. I would love if it the food in here was even mediocre, but it is terrible. I keep trying things to find out what they do well, and the answer is nothing. I think they could make iced water poorly. I had to spit out a brownie. It was that dry and hard. It was like eating a little clay square but somehow also unhealthy. Not to mention it’s incredibly expensive. Can’t say enough bad things about this place.

Delicious chocolate cruffin. Your coffee can get better though, I received a very lukewarm cappuccino this morning, ordered 2 shots but the barista instead made it a large cappuccino that tasted so bad I had to throw it. Milk was warm not hot, and when I asked for the coco powder refill, I was told there's no more coco even though it's a bakery.

The pastries were stale and pretty rough. They were also cold and seemed like they were few days old

No real vegan options apart for bread and marange
A great bakery with good bread and delicious coffee. You can only sit at a few tables in front of the restaurant, but it's still worth a visit.
Vegetarian options: Bread, spinach and Camembert particles, confectionery
