I was really looking forward to this reservation. I’m from Toronto, and several friends had highly recommended this spot. I also see it frequently on TikTok, the food always looks creative and beautifully presented.
We visited Sip, the downstairs space, as my friend had been before. The menu was different from what he remembered, which makes sense since it seems to rotate often. The atmosphere at Sip was incredible, very trendy and stylish, with a great vibe in the basement setting. The cocktails were equally impressive. I had the dirty martini with clarified mango, which was fantastic. While definitely on the pricier side, the drinks were clearly well-crafted and thoughtfully made.
The evening started off wonderfully. our server kindly brought over prosecco to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite meet our expectations.
We started with the mochi fry which was essentially one large potato fry with nacho seasoning. It had minimal flavor and a chewy texture, which felt underwhelming for the price. We also ordered the electric chicken and then cabbage. Our server later explained there had been a technical issue and the order hadn’t gone through properly, so we ended up waiting close to an hour for those two dishes. When those dishes finally arrived, it was a single piece of fried chicken. The menu mentioned Szechuan spices and oil, but the flavour was very subtle, it tasted like a fairly standard piece of fried chicken. For $28 usd, it was very hard to justify the portion and simplicity.
I completely understand that prices in New York are often higher, and I don’t mind paying more for exceptional quality or unique flavours. I’ve had many memorable meals in the city at similar or higher price points. The issue here was that the food didn’t match the pricing or the hype. It was average at best.
The service, however, was excellent, alll staff members we interacted with were attentive and professional. The energy and concept of the space are fantastic. I just wish the food experience had been as impressive as the drinks and the atmosphere.

The drinks are amazing. Come early to grab a seat at the bar if not then make reservations. It gets busy fast

We had a 4:30 PM reservation but lined up early and were lucky to get it.
The ambiance is effortlessly cool.
The sesame cabbage ($8) was beautifully balanced, and the burger ($35) was exceptional — the A5 Wagyu patty simply melts in your mouth, complemented by the umami-rich Parmesan and perfectly layered house-fermented slaw and aioli.
They first brought only one burger even though we ordered two but THANK GOD the kitchen had one more left.
Fair warning: it’s very rich and heavy — if you’re not ready for an indulgent meal, this one’s not for you.

10/10 cocktails and food are on point. Staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. The burger is worth getting there at 4pm.

Good cocktails and a good solid burguer - flavourful and very rich in terms of fat.
Great staff

Really enjoyed this cocktail bar. We went to sip with a reservation and had a great time. The drinks looked super interesting and so did the food. Def running back to try other drinks and food on their menu!

As a nightlife and hospitality consultant, I can say w/o a shadow of a doubt, Sip & Guzzle is the premier example of what a bar & restaurant should exemplify. Was here recently for a client dinner at Guzzle, incredible food, unbelievable service and afterwards we put our names down for the bar downstairs, Sip—truly remarkable. I don’t enjoy using the term “perfect” in my industry, often if ever, but what the team has done at 29 Cornelia St, is close to it !

Wow ! Came here recently for their brand new burger and I couldn’t have been more AMAZED ! Paired nicely w/ a Wagyu Old Fashioned, this was the perfect meal for me ! Was able to get a reservation online the night before and got there right when they opened—wasn’t anything too crazy. A lot of good burgers in this town and I think we have ourselves a new KING !

So got there before 4pm with a reservation, we were maybe the 6th or 7th person in. We ordered the burger right away and were told there weren’t any left. 12 is absolutely ridiculous but to save burgers for influencers with tik toks is absurd. Tik tok is ruining dining for local New Yorkers.
Lined up early for a 4 pm reservation to get this spectacular burger and despite being the 7th/8th people let in they said they were sold out of their 12 burgers a night. I’m assuming they reserved the rest for the influencers they’re paying.

Loved the atmosphere. The food were small plates but satisfied us overall. Everything was uniquely made including our drinks which were definitely on point!. I highly recommend this spot, but if you want their famous burger I advise you to arrive early because they are limited.

Was able to get a seat on a busy night. The downstairs is way more appealing and intimate. I tried the plantain drink and was not disappointed.
