I recently hosted a private party in the garden at Sofia Wine Bar, and what an unforgettable experience! The garden is absolutely stunning, with such a beautiful ambiance that it set the perfect vibe for the night. The food was out of this world — the meatballs and pizza were beyond amazing. The staff were truly some of the most attentive and friendliest people you could hope for. Sofia Wine Bar went above and beyond, and I can’t recommend it enough for a private party or just a night out with good food and wine!

If you want to have the best meatballs in the city, you must visit Sofia. The rest of the menu is dynamite as well, not to mention the wine. Can’t say enough good things about this gem.

Cute place - don’t sit outside since there are rats in the garden. Service is not as great outside either. Food was decent and obviously wine was good.

What a gem of a spot—so lovely to find an intimate, vibey Italian spot on a side street in this neighborhood. The eggplant Parmesan was one of the best I’ve had, akin to a straight up lasagna. Service was amazing too, the folks working the bar were so friendly. Would come back!!
Fantastic atmosphere, attentive service, and absolutely delicious food! (Try the beggars purse bolognese and the homemade tiramisu!) And not for nothing, their music selection was *chefs kiss. Thank you!!

Got a table on a pretty cramped back room. Would recommend you ask for a table in the front/bar part of the place because that seemed way nicer. Both the food and wines by the glass seemed a little overpriced. Was expecting better quality.

Super cozy although very loud (Thursday at 8:30 sitting downstairs). The pasta dishes were excellent but very small. We had a great time here and would absolutely return.
Can't recommend this place enough. Jam-packed on a summer Wednesday night with happy guests and an awesome, vibrant vibe. Incredible food, service, ambience. Loved it, will return next time in NYC

Just wow! The pizza was so good. Amazing wine bar ambiance, super romantic though was only going there with friends. The Semillion and the orange wine were both great

Called the restaurant beforehand to ask about wait time, reservations, and questions concerning an allergy for someone in my party. Was given an automated system and left a message but did not hear back. Went to the restaurant knowing there may be a wait time but walked in and had to ask the bartender about seating because the hostess was not paying attention. We were seated in a cramped 2 seat table by the wall and check out kiosk. It was after we ordered drinks when the hostess stated the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. We ordered two glasses of rose and got one glass. We immediately left after finishing the glass of rose. The male hostess really ruined our experience, he was short, passive aggressive, and not attentive.

Sofia’s is truly a hidden treasure!! It has a wonderful eclectic atmosphere that’s as cozy as a snug haven on a stormy day.
Although they have an incredible wine selection, don’t be fooled by their name. There Italian dishes are as authentic as you can imagine! They are known for the home made delicious meatballs, but don’t stop there!!! I can’t say enough about the quality and taste of everything on their menu. From the crab cakes, pasta dishes, pizza and amazing appetizers to deserts will leave nothing to be desired! And if you’re gluten free, you will not find a better pizza. Incredible !
Let me finish by saying how great the service with an amazing staff who love making customers happy!
Don’t miss out on this awesome experience!

A very charming place. The food is delicious all hand made with top quality ingredients. The meatballs are the best you can have. The owner makes daily fresh mozzarella with incredible flavor and texture. The wine selection is huge best wine from all over the world. Very romantic and cozy. The people working there very friendly and professional. I would suggest to ask the specials, sometime they have a great lasagna. Highly recommend
