Every time I am in NYC I have to make a stop at Softside! Its so light and yet creamy and so satisfying! It is an easy walk up window with a little outdoor seating.
They have a very simple and amazing menu! There are a few classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and pistachio. recently they have added matcha, possibly for a limited time! Their toppings are classic and amazing. I love to get the hard chocolate shell but you can't go wrong!
They are pretty well known for having a sundae with olive oil on it and its soo unique and delicious!
If you are looking for an elevated but simple soft serve, this is a great spot to try!

We stopped here for a quick ice cream on our way back to the hotel and this place really hit the spot. It is a small ice cream window on the side of āUpsideā, a much larger restaurant.
I got a vanilla cone with sprinkles and I was delicious! There was also no wait. I would definitely come back. Check them out!

One of my favorite spots for soft serve in NYC! This self-serve sundae place is not only fun and interactive, but the flavors are genuinely delicious and aesthetic.
My top two favorites are: ā¢ The Riff ā made with sea salt and honey, itās pure, simple, and lets the soft serveās natural creamy texture shine. Itās subtle, elegant, and absolutely addicting. ā¢ Sweet Cloud Matcha Sundae ā topped with a beautiful matcha hard shell and whipped cream. If youāre a matcha lover, youāll fall in love with this one!
The āself-serveā concept makes it extra fun, and every creation looks Instagram-worthy. Highly recommend stopping by for a treat thatās both tasty and cute!

I went twice. First time was fine but got food poisoning from the second time when I had the pistachio soft serve.
Great soft serve iced cream I asked for the most popular item and they said the riff. Vanilla soft serve with olive oil honey and sea salt. Sounds weird and a bit scary but itās AMAZING! Will come back again for it

I went in with my partner to grab ice cream and ordered a chocolate-dipped vanilla cone. The employee refused to honor my order, insisting I hadnāt been specificāeven though I clearly said chocolate-dipped cone. Instead of correcting it, he tried to charge me extra and put the blame on me.
Not only was the service rude, but the ice cream itself wasnāt anything specialāit tasted like McDonaldās (but at a much higher price). For better service, fair pricing, and the same quality, Iād recommend going to McDonaldās instead. You wonāt have to deal with rude staff or inflated prices.

The combination might sound unusual, but it totally works. The vanilla base was smooth, creamy, and not too sweet, which let the toppings really shine. The honey added just the right amount of sweetness, the olive oil gave it a rich, slightly savory depth, and the sea salt brought everything together perfectly.
Itās a simple place with a clean, modern vibe, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality and creativity of the flavors make it worth it. Definitely a fun, unique twist on soft serve. Iāll be back to try more combos.
