Can’t believe we just discovered this gem in the neighborhood. The food is so so so good!!! The space is open, simple, with high ceiling. Service is super sweet and personable. The food is good good good. What a find!
Place was half empty on a Friday night and we still waited an hour and a half for entrees. Mussels were so salty my mouth hurt, and the rabbit was plated as an abhorrent mess and as chewy as calamari. Sat with an empty glass in front of me for over 30 minutes before I had to ask for another. Really disappointing and will be sure not to come back.
The food is INCREDIBLE ! I still can’t get over how delicious and fresh the food was. The wine selection is amazing and the Owner’s recs were spot on !!! Wow . I’m blown away! Today I woke up thinking about the branzino , octopus , and spinach flan!
Very nice place, a different vibe from the party scene nearby. Excellent Italian menu. We had a great time and then had the Village outside to enjoy.
Has clean bathrooms for customers.Great wine selection, solid food.We were back in town and I always forget that my kids need to take bathroom breaks. We were in line for Joe’s Pizza a few doors down like we always are, but they needed to go and one was tired of walking. We needed a sit down place and this is perfect. The dishes were wonderful. We had a few appetizers (finished before taking pics) the arugula salad was super tasty and my allergic to everything kids were very happy with 2 plates of penne (boring, said the gentleman, but we couldn’t do the walnut sauce ravioli or anything else he suggested). Anyway. The basics are great. On a sunny day, the windows are open and We overheard an older lady that had been coming here since she moved to the village a few decades ago. She said she comes alone for the pre fixe dinner and she seemed right at home chatting away with the owner (I think it was the owner).
The restaurant that not many people knows how good the food is, kept secret because celebrities and don’t be afraid to ask about the selection of wines.I was there few times, super antipasti ( mussels is one of it ) Great pasta, i founded the Pansotti to be fantastic!! Had gnocchi as well and Branzino. If you are around the village go for it.You will be happy that you stopped by.
Solaro was an absolutely wonderful experience! We stopped here for a bottle of wine and some appetizers as a late afternoon outing and everything was so fresh! They even had the best focaccia bread we have had in NY. Will definitely be back here!
What a find! Excellent Italian food. Quality. Owner was awesome - kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. My sister ordered a really solid Rose at his recommendation, and it was delicious. There is so much mediocre, over-priced Italian food in this city; to find a gem like this is exciting.
Great food, service and conversation. The gnocchi and salmon were both excellent. Ask for a wine recommendation to pair! Delightful Italian vibe with the owners.
Wonderful experience. Food was amazing and customer service superb. Will definitely be back.

Delicious and authentic, says my Southern Italian boyfriend. The prix fixe is an excellent deal. The staff are lovely. Very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. The rabbit and the tagliatelle are perfection.
Really disappointed in this place. We got the octopus, penne and pollo. The octopus was extremely salty. The pasta tasted like it was cooked from a box, and the pollo might as well have just been breading with salt. Not to mention, it wasn't busy at all, but we still waited for quite some time for our food and our glasses of wine were tiny. Given all the good reviews and the price point of the food, I expected much more.
This was a very very lovely place. Food is delicious. The staff is extremely friendly. Atmosphere is cozy. I would definitely go again. I went with a friend and we ordered the mussels along with main course of seafood pasta. Very pleased.
THE BEST personal service!!! The food was perfection, too! We felt like we were eating with family. Couldn't have asked for a better NYC experience. Thank you + best wishes, Robin! Xoxo
Wonderful place ... the owners make you feel like you’re right at home <3
