I had visited this place before, currently I do not recommend them, their service is bad, their food is no longer good, and at lunch time you have to wait a long time because they only have one person charging.

These food counter places are supposed to be designed to be fast, this restaurant is a bust and I understand the staff. There are too few to serve so many people, it took more than 20 minutes waiting in line for a dish and after that it took 20 more minutes waiting for some toast. I really won't go back to this place.

My team would often order from Sophie’s catering menu (pre pandemic). There was something for everyone and helped after lunch agendas to seem more doable There was always more than enough. It felt nostalgic to pop into this location for empanadas before heading over to Grand Central. It’s in a great location and although on 6th Avenue, the environment was clean and pleasant. The employees are friendly enough and definitely attentive. It’s worth visiting for a quick meal, eat in or takeout. Thank you.

Authentic Cuban cousine. Delicioso!Cafeteria dining style, with a few tables for dinning on premise. It appears that there is a very active take out business . Noticed defference to a police officer wich we like to ?.Found by accident, but would go there again in a heart beat!

Whenever I travel from Baltimore to NYC, Sophie's is one of my last stops before the trip back home. The food never disappoints and the portions are HUGE!

Love the oxtails here and the empanadas. Decent portion size. Clean but small seating area. Friendly staff.

Sophie's exceeded expectations, living up to the glowing recommendation from a friend. The star of the show, without a doubt, was their empanadas. I tried both the beef and the chicken, and each bite was flavorful. The beef, in particular, stood out with its well-seasoned perfection, earning the title of my personal favorite.Aside from the fantastic empanadas, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the bathroom. It's a detail that often goes unnoticed but adds to the overall positive dining experience.

The sandwich tasted great. Very filling and satisfying. The empanada was good too but too greasy.

I used to come here to eat and I stopped becuase of how bland the food was.....the food used to be so flavorful back in the days, but It's still bland with no authentic Spanish flavors. I asked for Yuca & I only got 2 small smashed pieces of yuca with a huge load of red onions, the plantains was very very wilted and my chicken was very dry and still had feathers in it and the potatoes that came with the chicken was super hard i had to toss them in the garbage. I couldn't even finish eat it i had to toss $18 bucks in the trash.

The attendant was Rodrigo on my ticket? I had severed food allergies! I told him the cashier and the pre food guy? His responded was totally the opposite way! I got a cuban sandwich full of ((lechuga)) lettuce!! As I told the oxide boron ! In addition, I spoke Spanish???!! I can not eat it! I mentioned more than once. But the super gracious!! His Incredible Memories! Can not make Right…!! Plus the food was expensive and so so, very salty salt salted it!! Be your own judge! Plus I tip those killers..!!! ????…they can not understand Spanish nor English for Sure!”!!”

I like the rice and beans enough that I might consider the unthinkable and get a four-time sides/salads combo. But tonight's main course was turkey, an impressive pernil-liked formulation that I don't think I've seen before, super-juicy and flavorful. They were out of the chicken fricasee which I plan to try in the near future. Very friendly service.
