We're glad to see that the old Sotto 13 got an upgrade to Via 13. The food was terrific and a change from the standard Italian fare in the neighborhood. We'll return often.
This Italian restaurant truly stands out! The food is exceptional, and I highly recommend trying their cocktails as well – they’re definitely worth it!

This isn’t just a restaurant it’s a slice of Italy in every sense. Run by a passionate Italian family and led by a talented Italian chef, every dish carries the heart, tradition, and bold flavor of real Italian cooking.
You can taste the difference from the hand rolled fresh pasta to the rich sauces. The chef’s dedication to quality and authenticity shines in every bite, with recipes that honor his roots and elevate the classics. Gluten Free Pizza to TRY!!!
The service is impeccable warm, welcoming, and attentive, just like you’d expect in a true Italian home. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, you’re treated like part of the family.

We discovered this by walking opposite to the theater we were going to.
Via 13 140 west 13 th street
A lovely tree lined street and a little corner of cibo delicioso
Fabulous, tasty, attractively presented food. The waiter helped us choose, divide our shared courses and took our pictures.
Lovely unique salad with peaches, crispy sea bream and crostatina with berries
All lip smacking great!

An unforgettable brunch experience! Via 13 went above and beyond from the very beginning. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and full of charm — the perfect mix of modern elegance and authentic Italian soul. We came for brunch and were truly blown away. The food was absolutely outstanding. Each dish was carefully prepared, rich in flavor, beautifully plated, and made with the highest quality ingredients. The portions were surprisingly generous, which made everything even more satisfying. We loved every single bite. What truly made the experience special was the staff. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful — always making sure we felt comfortable and taken care of. At the end of our brunch, they even gave us adorable good luck charms, a small but meaningful gesture that made our day. Via 13 is more than just a restaurant — it's a place where you feel valued and appreciated. We left with full hearts, big smiles, and every intention to return soon. Thank you so much, Via 13! 🌟💛🍽️✨
A true hidden gem in the heart of the West Village! The food was absolutely outstanding, and the staff couldn't have been better! So friendly and attentive. Everything was perfect. Highly recommended!
We had the best time at the newly renovated Via 13 (previously Sotto 13)! Our server Alexander was so sweet and generous. We were seated outside. It was very clean and well shaded on a hot summer evening. I highly recommend the octopus carbonara pasta, it’s not your usual creamy pasta but that’s the beauty of it! Just perfectly seasoned and the right amount of buttery bacon chew. Alexander also gifted us a lucky charm and lovely frozen espresso martini shots to wrap up the meal. It was overall a beautiful and cozy summer night.

We were visiting friends in the area and decided to give this spot a try, so glad we did! Our daughter has a gluten allergy, and we were excited to find gluten-free pizza options on the menu. She’s hard to impress, but she loved it and said the dough was absolutely perfect!
My husband and I shared the Diavola pizza and the octopus, both were outstanding. The Caesar salad was also fresh and flavorful. Service was top-notch: attentive, friendly, and welcoming.
Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area!

I don't love the rebrand of this place. This used to be a reliable spot to get a nice simple Italian meal in the weather village and now it's overpriced and fancy for no reason. The interiors are beautiful but this place adds ingredient just for the sake of being fancy. Enough with the foams and outlandish flavors and bring back comfort Italian food. We already have a place like this that's a few doors down named Alice that's better. My friend ordered a pomodoro and it was drenched in oil, my salmon looked like a burrito the way it was wrapped in zuccini and smothered in sauces. And my other friend got a risotto that had this foam to it that made it look unappetizing to eat. This place just seems to overcomplicate classic Italian dishes when it doesn't need to. I get that it's going for the gourmet vibe now but the flavors weren't hitting. They also didn't have any Diet Coke. Service was good though and the staff was friendly! Overall just too complicated and not worth the price! RIP sotto13 I will miss you
The atmosphere and service were top notch today!! The friendly staff took our group of 6 last minute during the Pride Parade, and they were so warm and lovely. Best pizza we’ve ever had!!

I thought great Italian in the Village is a no brainer, but I was wrong. Stick to Morandi, Gemma and places that not only have great food, but know atmosphere and lighting.

It’s an Italian restaurant that can’t make basic spaghetti. The service was so inept and the lighting in the back was just oddly bright. They say go to restaurant bathroom and see how dusty it is with old potpourri from 10 years ago. Come on you can do better.

Always great food and service here. The frozen espresso martinis are so good and the truffle pizza is to die for!
