The worst sushi experience. Crammed space, hurried service, they bring a pile of sushi rather than one at a time, feels like a fast food experience in terms of atmosphere and quality but they are charging as if for an upscale experience. Also each sushi is half the size of normal sushi everywhere else, it’s just ridiculous.

Pretty poor experience overall, the initial course of fish was just ok and the AYCE was pretty terrible. The Wagyu was unappetizing and the two tuna options were both flavorless. The vinegar of the rice was overpowering both tuna nigiris. The service was alright but the food was unimpressive given the price. The single order as an AYCE is a joke and feels really awful as a dining experience. Definitely a miss

I didn’t have high expectations but for an omakase restaurant the fish is not good. The main appeal is in it’s AYCE and unlimited alcohol, however, with that they sacrifice enjoyment of the customers + quality of the fish for speed.

Although customers have 90 minutes to eat, it’s still so rushed to the point the pieces are shoved on your plate 2-3 pieces at a time. The chefs didn’t even have enough time to introduce the pieces to us and it didn’t have that comforting hospitality that I expect most omakase places to have.

The AYCE section is only limited to lean tuna, fatty tuna, and wagyu so the flavors get tiring fast. After a while of eating the sushi, all you get left with is a taste of metal and fishy-ness.

The service is decent, and the place is very busy and sort of cramped. Overall, I would not come back again.

Came here for my anniversary and did not disappoint! Had a 5:30 resy (right when they open) and they wasted no time. Every single serving was fresh and delicious. At the end, there is an “unlimited offering” but, you give your count of how much you would like and there is no adding or subtracting to the order. It’s not like a rodízio where it’s “all you can eat” but I liked that the food is not wasted. Any sushi leftover has a surcharge. Overall, great omasake experience including unlimited sake and beer. Shout out to our girl, Phoebe who made our anniversary memorable!

Honestly a gem place. First time Omakase and I was welcomed with open arms. Jake and Zach and the rest of the team went up and beyond. Pleasure to be dining with them and will definitely be a regular any time I’m in NY. Great business Jake keep it up!!!

What a vibe… very LES vibe compared to the West Village one… (WV is more posh (in a good way)) this one is still the same amazing food, we were there for Super Bowl Sunday and they were chatting with us, super chatty and fun… great vibe.

The lucky chicken can IPA beer was super also along with all the Sake!

The seating was tight and an unpleasant experience getting seated. Got the omakase and unlimited (but limited drinks and AYCE.) Appetizer was bland and served in a cheap wafer. Some of the fish selections was good- seam bream, scallops, uni- but the waygu...a shame even to be called that. It was grisly and couldn't chew through it. The rice was super soggy but the drinks were flowing, ended with a mochi ice cream in a plastic pouch. The whole experience seemed like a college temu omakase experience. It was not worth the 💰

Souraji Omakase was such a solid spot. The food was really fresh and flavorful without feeling overly fancy. Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole place had a relaxed, good-energy vibe. Definitely a great casual omakase experience.

the omakase was rushed. i think they deliberately make the rice mushy and too sticky to make you full fast

- 12 pieces from the omakase
- unlimited pieces of tuna, toro, & wagyu nigiri - you order the amount you want for all three just once at the end
- all you can drink sake, plum wine, etc
- miso soup
- mochi ice cream at the end

our service was solid and the sushi was really good! i went to souraji west last year and it was really lovely as well. the miso soup is sooooo good I want to make it myself lol

we were also struggling to finish all our pieces 😭 but since the place wasn’t fully booked the next round we were allowed to stay a bit longer and finish up 🙏🙏 thank god.

i would probably recommend souraji west over souraji butttt they’re definitely basically the same! really solid option if you’re tryin to get full on some gourmet sushi

There is a 90-minute dining limit, and the restaurant seems overly focused on rushing guests through the experience. Our service actually began about 15 minutes late, which wouldn’t have been an issue if we hadn’t then felt hurried for the remainder of the meal. Throughout our visit, we were repeatedly reminded of “last calls,” whether for ordering sake or additional sushi.

While the overall experience was pleasant and the staff were kind and polite, the constant emphasis on timing made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Given that this is not an inexpensive AYCE option, it was disappointing to feel nickel-and-dimed on both time and ordering rather than being able to settle in and fully enjoy ourselves.

My recommendation to the establishment would be to ease up on the frequent last-call reminders. Dining should feel enjoyable, not like a countdown. The rushing ultimately cheapens what could otherwise be a very nice experience.
