The food was decent but this is quite possibly the most depressing dining room I have ever been in. It could have been in a backwoods podunk town and I would not have known but definitely not expected for S. Central Park!

I went to see my niece with high expectations, but I was a little let down. I expected much more for the price of the dishes, but I ended up with much less. While good, the food did not particularly stand out. You enter at your own risk.

Came here with a friend. One of the bartender was extremely rude to me while I wait for my friend. He even told me “if you don’t order I’ll have to charge you for sitting here”. I’ve never experience this anywhere else.

This place is a bit overpriced, and while the food is good I can’t say it matches the price. If you are staying at this hotel with some friends, and trying to catch up on a Sunday afternoon then I’d say go for it. Otherwise, Manhattan is filled with much better places to get a bite to eat at a more reasonable price. Plus it’ll come with larger portions than what you’re paying for.Food - 12/20Service - 7/10Atmosphere - 6/10Total - 25/40

Great waitstaff, we had one of the best charcuterie plates ever. Nice view of Central Park. 6 stars

Good spot, not much of anything special though NYC sets a high bar in this category.
Nice venue, food was fine. Overpriced for what it is. Friendly

Convenience is the name of the game here not service or a meal that you would return for. While I am a guest at this hotel , other than the hostess who greeted me warmly , I treated very rudely by an inattentive waiter and have a breakfast that was best characterized as marginal .

I can't comment on the food because I didn't eat there but I did stop in for an Old Fashioned (the specialty cocktail on their menu) a few times during my stay at the hotel and it was just ? .. perfect smokey flavor. Maple syrup.. so delicious

This was our second visit at SOUTHGATE for brunch and as the first one it was amazing ? The Manager Julette and Lady D went out of their ways to make us feel comfortable and welcomed and the service of the whole team was astounding. The food was yum-my and I‘m very much looking forward to our next brunch there! ?
This was surprisingly bad. The food came out on a plate like I was at a Perkins or some similar middle-America chain. I asked for a side of Mayo and was brought a plate of little bottles like I was on an airplane. My $25 martini was sub-par...my fries were sad and wilted... my $35 burger was just average. My waiter came over exactly once to check on me over the course of an hour. Unless you are staying at the hotel and going simply for convenience do not bother. This hotel needs to do much better.
I loved this place! Amazing service (thank you, Marcela!) and great food, wine. Loved the view! You made me feel special at this place. I will definitely be back.
