The food was decent but this is quite possibly the most depressing dining room I have ever been in. It could have been in a backwoods podunk town and I would not have known but definitely not expected for S. Central Park!

I went to see my niece with high expectations, but I was a little let down. I expected much more for the price of the dishes, but I ended up with much less. While good, the food did not particularly stand out. You enter at your own risk.

Stayed at the hotel for work and had a late lunch here. Staff was there but wasn't as on top of things. I had to ask a few times to get more water. Our food came out fast which we had the Caesar salad with chicken, chicken entree and two order of fries. The fries came out dry and cold but I didn't really expect anything special since the place is in a hotel. For those four items our bill was over $100. Place is high price tag but no dress code enforced. The restaurant is small and cut down as the hotel is under construction.

This is a high-end hotel on Central Park South. Ugh. Is that a temporary space they have put the restaurant in? The seats were super dirty. The waiter is not really there, and was super unpleasant. There was clanking of dishes and weird sounds through the sound system. Very sad place. I brought a business partner. What a HUGE mistake. Embarrassing at every level and in every way.

Charged $9 for a can of ginger ale. Need I say more?

Came here with a friend. One of the bartender was extremely rude to me while I wait for my friend. He even told me “if you don’t order I’ll have to charge you for sitting here”. I’ve never experience this anywhere else.

This place is a bit overpriced, and while the food is good I can’t say it matches the price. If you are staying at this hotel with some friends, and trying to catch up on a Sunday afternoon then I’d say go for it. Otherwise, Manhattan is filled with much better places to get a bite to eat at a more reasonable price. Plus it’ll come with larger portions than what you’re paying for.Food - 12/20Service - 7/10Atmosphere - 6/10Total - 25/40

Good spot, not much of anything special though NYC sets a high bar in this category.

Convenience is the name of the game here not service or a meal that you would return for. While I am a guest at this hotel , other than the hostess who greeted me warmly , I treated very rudely by an inattentive waiter and have a breakfast that was best characterized as marginal .

I can't comment on the food because I didn't eat there but I did stop in for an Old Fashioned (the specialty cocktail on their menu) a few times during my stay at the hotel and it was just ? .. perfect smokey flavor. Maple syrup.. so delicious

This was our second visit at SOUTHGATE for brunch and as the first one it was amazing ? The Manager Julette and Lady D went out of their ways to make us feel comfortable and welcomed and the service of the whole team was astounding. The food was yum-my and I‘m very much looking forward to our next brunch there! ?
