Stopped by Souvlaki GR for a light bite, it was a warm April day so we were able to even sit outside! Note they still have an outside covered shack, which is directly across the street from Carnegie Hall. The outdoor shack was not busy, there was only 2 other tables. I felt the service was lacking, waited quite a bit for the server to place our order. I ordered the spanakopita and the gigantes. The spanakopita was definitely homemade, it was entirely filled with spinach, my favorite! Additionally, I also got the gigantes, which was also delicious! Overall, the food was delicious, the service is questionable. But for the gigantes and spanakopita, I will definitely be coming back

The server was great, however I was very disappointed with the food. The pork stick was cold and the chicken souvlaki sandwich was tasteless.

An enchanting little place with a healthy dose of classic Mediterranean fare. I may have, after all, discovered the Big Apple's 'blue zone'. Let's admit it, some of us workaholics have had the fleeting thought of quitting our jobs and moving to a picturesque Greek isle to do nothing but eat, make merry, and live life to the fullest. My recent visit to Souvlaki GR on a Friday night brought me close to such an experience. The Branzino special - a big fat Greek fish it is not - was tender and juicy to relish along with the yummy potatoes in lemon sauce. The sound of laughter coupled with the light banter and conversations all around echoed through the iconic white washed walls with its famed blue doors and windows and the pretty overarching bougainvilleas above. The staff seemed adept in managing the crowded tables serving up dishes in perfect timing while skillfully navigating the narrow passages in between. On a philosophical note, if the Great Alexander himself had stopped by, having shared his ancient recipes and secret sauces with the world from fellow Alexandrians to the lesser known Indo-Greeks, he would have left with a wistful smile knowing that heeding the call to return home may have been his best move. So journey on, break bread, and be merry.

The grilled salmon was very bland, no flavor at all. The grilled steak looked great but was also quite bland. The chicken in lemon sauce was decent. Didn't really taste any lemon flavor. Very disappointed.

I love this Greek spot! I’ve been a number of times and every bite has been so good! I like to mix it up each visit but can attest to the lamb chops, chicken and veggie skewers, salads, Greek fries, and dips (especially tzatziki) all being very delicious! The interior is so cozy and it’s a great spot to bring NYC visitors and even better for sharing family style!

Randomly stopped by this place because I couldn't make it back to Westchester without eating. I'm a sucker for Mediterranean food. Soooo glad I stopped. Here are the deets. Pros: --very intimate and cute dining room --I can't speak for my service overall, but I liked my waitress. She was helpful in assisting me with selection of food choices. --my food was excellent. I ordered a large appetizer, and an entree, so I had plenty left over for lunch today. --the spicy feta, tzatziki, lemon potatoes, and meatballs were fantastic. Cons: --parking in that area is terrible, so keep that in mind. --the hummus was disappointing. Unfortunately, that seems common across most Greek restaurants I've eaten at in NY. Overall: I hope to return, and would recommend this spot to others.

OVERALL: GOOD NOT GREAT. The food is really good. Not cheap but not super expensive. tzatziki TO DIE FOR. Skewers are small and come with a small tzatziki when they should either be bigger or come with a side. Service was a bit slow/less attentive than average. But the food is really good.Vegetarian options: Several salad options and veggie dips

Food was good but it felt they were trying to trick us by automatically adding 18% on the bill as a gratuity and then having a big empty line for TIP in double sized letters as if there wasn't one already added.Maybe some customers are stupid enough to tip 40% on a meal by not noticing the already included 18% but you lost this customer with this deviously laid out trickery.CUSTOMERS BEWARE!

I really wanted to love this restaurant. It looks so cute and quaint inside and close to where I work! but the food needs some improvement. I ordered the Greek Salad. I have had better salad at Greek diners. First it was just a plate of tomatoes and cucumbers. A few onions a bit of feta cheese and a few olives. It was pricey too do I was expecting a few nice slabs of feta, and where were the stuffed grape leaves? Where was the lettuce even? Huge slices of tomatoes. Why can’t you slice them smaller? The best ever was the taxiki with grilled pita bread. That was very delicious. My cousin had the lemon soup which was very eggy tasting for some reason and not much flavor otherwise. Aside from the pita and taxiki sauce everything was underwhelming.

I popped into Souvlaki GR to grab a Souvlaki Pita, and I can't say that I was impressed. I sat on a wobbly bar stool, and I ordered a Souvlaki Pita with a Mythos beer. My sandwich wasn't all that great, and it was a bit small. The Mythos was average for an imported beer. The Souvlaki cost only $8, and the Mythos was $10. Not a great experience.

This restaurant is the place to go! When you enter, you immediately feel like you’re in Greece. From the food to the people and the decor, it’s truly a gem and at a great price.

Got the gyro and Greek fries, both were pretty good but not outstanding. I've been to the other location in midtown, and in my opinion, that location tastes better. The gyro was flavorful, but a little cold. The fries were crispy, but the cheese flavors didn't not really blend.

Skewers are served cold, or microwaved for 30 seconds. Not good is an understatement.
