Here’s the thing. This was an easily five-star spot just a few months ago. It was the only place I can think of where you could sit under taxidermy busts, listening to honky-tonk country music, eating surprisingly great pasta, and drinking the free beer you were awarded for wearing your cowboy hat. Sure, it was a needlessly “zany” place, but it worked because everything it did, it did well. But now! It’s a bar. It’s a fine bar, don’t get me wrong, but it is no longer the jewel of the Upper West Side. What was once a destination worth planning an evening around is now a spot to pop in and grab a quick beer before you get on the train.Four stars for cold beer, warm ambience, pinball machines. Two stars for what once was and what could have been.Three because I’m not a j*** and I don’t want them to like, go out of business or something.
I went here for bottomless brunch on a Saturday with my fiancé. We live a few blocks down the street and have been wanting to stop in and try the Spaghetti Tavern for months now and I am glad we finally did! The bar feels very Alaskan themed with the dark interior vibes and pictures of moose and fish on the walls - it does not feel like anywhere else in NYC. We actually found out the owners are from Australia and that is the theme of the bar lol. The service was great and there was even live music because they do Bluegrass Brunch every Saturday and Sunday. I highly recommend stopping here next time you are looking for brunch !
Stopped by for drinks on a Saturday afternoon. They had live music which was great. We sat outside and then later moved inside when it started to rain. Really cute and cozy inside. Service was excellent. I noticed they have cool events at night too like comedy shows and karaoke. Great spot!!
The place has a cool enviroment. The food was alright. I thought the caccio e peppe was a little to salty for my liking but the other dishes we got were fine. I don’t understand the bag thing for the pasta it just felt like it added clutter to the table. I’d go back for another try and try one of the other dishes just not the one I had since it was a little to salty
My wife and I were in NYC this weekend to visit her brother and see a show; after that we headed back to our hotel but wanted to find somewhere to grab a drink and some small bar snacks. After a few near-misses elsewhere in the neighborhood we found this place and figured why not, especially given the fun name and the goofy moose out front. I'm glad we did! The meatball sliders and arancini were great as was their beer list - I was thrilled to see Alexandr from Schilling brewery out of NH on their draft list, and the vintage Narragansett sign was a sight to see. Overall just a fun d*** kinda place, exactly the type of place you want to stumble across. Recommended for sure!
Little hole in the wall offers Off the Chart garlic bread & unique spaghetti presented in bags. Must make the visit & happy hour libation specials will keep you comfortable.
There's a lot of hype for this place, but I don't quite get it. The delivery is unique, but the taste is just not there. Since there aren't just a ton of things to choose from, I'm not sure I'd go back and try again.
The staff is kind and accommodating. They made our group of 6 feel welcome. We would go back for the staff alone. To make it even better, there was live music and the place has a homey relaxed vibe. Brunch food was unique and tasty, with a great value bottomless mimosa option.
This place is nothing more than a cruel joke. Maybe some people think paying $25.00 for a paper bag of mediocre pasta is somehow exotic or thrilling, but I found the experience personally insulting. The house wines tasted like two buck chuck and the vegetarian burger may has well have been cooked by a 5th grader. If the dogs in Lady and the Tramp ate here, the movie would have ended in contempt and divorce. If you respect yourself or the concept of dining, do not go here. At the very least, don’t subject another person to this place. Save yourselves.
Went to spaghetti tavern on a whim on Friday night and although I’m usually not a fan of “western” “outdoorsy” type pubs this place was a gem! The ambiance was great, service was good. The garlic bread focaccia was to DIE for. I’m actually still dreaming of it the day after.

It was a DREAM. Great garlic bread. Perfect noodles. The perfect combination of Western cowboy decor, Italian food, and Australian waitstaff. Never imagined a better weird crossroads.
Good beer options, delicious burger! The spaghetti in a bag is kind of fun, too!
They have spaghett!
Ok, I have tried thousands of pasta dishes and I tend to to favor the traditional dishes the best. This may be the best dish that I have had - and that says a lot. Incredible sauce and the noodles were phenomenal. The portions were perfect and the staff was great. Super highly recommend because this was a totally a surprise which is always amazing! Also, they have the best Bacon, Egg,.and Cheese sandwich I have ever tried. Just spectacular!!!
During my NY vacation I treated myself and my host to dinner at Spaghetti Tavern. What a fun and yummy evening! We felt drawn by the positive energy of the staff. Our amazing server, Kristin, helped us select meals we loved. The menu was intriguing and well priced, so we also enjoyed several side orders. Next time I will try the fresh, handmade gluten free pasta I've heard raves about. Thanks, Ryan 'n co., for a highlight of my NY adventure!
