A waiter who can access all the diners shouldn't reach over shoulders to serve dishes to the patrons sitting farther away. One never suggests changing the tablecloth while patrons are sitting and talking.

Wife and I never miss going here when we visit NY. Bartenders are great, food, service ECT.......We haven't visited NY since before Covid and not planning on it anytime soon because of all the violence. Speaking of violence. One reason why Sparks is so famous is because of violence. But that's why we love it.

I’d have a difficult time believing there’s a better old school style steakhouse in New York. I was lucky enough to return here for dinner yesterday evening after not having been since the age of 16. Everything is just as I remembered. All staff were immensely pleasant, charismatic, and the perfect level of attentive. I opted to sit at the bar and ordered an impeccably balanced Boulevardier followed by a neat pour of Stagg (Jr.) bourbon. These were ideal pairings to the hashbrowns, asparagus, and medium rare sirloin that I ordered. The food was prepared to the perfect temperature and texture.Everything about this experience conveyed class, precision, and simplicity. Sparks proves that you don’t need to be the priciest or the flashiest to be the best.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful evening I spent at Sparks Steak House. The moment I stepped into the establishment, I felt like a special guest. The cozy atmosphere, exquisite interior, and impeccable service set the tone for a perfect dinner. The waitstaff were attentive and considerate, displaying professionalism and a thorough knowledge of the menu. The steak was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. The meat was of exceptional quality and cooked to perfection, accentuating its natural flavor and juiciness. The side dishes served with the steak were equally impressive and complemented the main course harmoniously.I must also mention the wine list. The sommelier helped us choose the perfect wine for our dinner, which made the taste of the dishes even richer and more memorable.Thank you for an unforgettable dinner. Sparks Steak House truly stands out for its commitment to quality and high level of service. I eagerly look forward to visiting again and will definitely recommend it to friends and family looking for an exceptional dining venue.

This is a great post war steak house. Very classic American vibe. The funniest part about this is they don't have that many cuts of meat. They don't serve the combined porterhouse. You have to choose filet or strip. Also don't have the ribeye. But honestly I think it's great. You know you're going to come here and get a delicious cut of steak. Comes exactly how you like it. Salt is perfect and the meat is sweet. Sides are well cooked and well portioned. I dare say ordering a strip and a few sides is a healthy balanced meal that doesn't leave you feeling bad. Desserts are good too. Everything comes on beautiful flatware. Tables are nice and spaced out and there are nice pastoral paintings adorning every wall. Truly a pleasant and enjoyable experience with friends.

Was taken here for my birthday dinner...and is one of the few legendary steak houses in NYC I had yet to try. Was so worth the wait..steak was amazing...hash browns crispy and delicious..and save room for the wild berry Romanoff for dessert. Service was impeccable..and had the nicest waiter. A great dinner.
