This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Located off the beaten path but well worth the visit. The food is absolutely sublime. The gnocchi was the best we have ever had; soft and simply melted in the mouth. The unique way of selecting wines with your table spinner was a most pleasant surprise too. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend going here when you are in the city.

Cute little local restaurant with tasty food, which was too salty (both main courses were way too salty). However , the value is not good. It is as expensive as restaurants in a higher tier. It is crowded, noisy , the decor is nice but cheap and the food is good but not that good for the price. I won’t return.

What we love most about SPEZ is that every single bottle is available by the glass, which lets us keep coming back to discover new grapes, regions, and producers from Italy. Erika and Ale run the show and they bring INCREDIBLE energy- super knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and just amazing.

Love the decor inside! Great pasta and the sauce really fun set up with the wine tasting
The wines were original and interesting, and the staff was friendly. However, I found the bites really overpriced — the parmigiana was just two slices of eggplant, and the cheese plate came with only two small pieces of young pecorino. I really don’t understand why they would be stingy with the food when it would be so easy to make customers feel happy and satisfied — and want to come back.

Spes is a beautiful Italian wine bar. Perfect date spot, perfect place to bring someone who loves wine. Adorable method of ordering wines requires collaboration with the friendly staff. Who wouldn't want to eat delicious snacks and drink verdicchio out of a vintage glass while a real candle slowly melts next to some beautiful flowers?
