In the heart of the Upper West Side,
Where the city pulses, and dreams collide,
Spiga stands—a treasure, warm and bright,
A culinary haven, a feast for the night.
Here, the air is fragrant with whispers of thyme,
And pasta twirls in a waltz so sublime.
Each dish a sonnet, crafted with care,
A celebration of flavors that linger in the air.
The laughter of friends, a comforting tune,
Beneath the soft glow of the crescent moon.
Savor the risotto, rich with delight,
Or wood-fired pizzas, a slice of pure light.
With each sip of Chianti, the heart feels so light,
As the sunset bathes the room in soft twilight.
At Spiga, each moment is tender and rare,
A symphony tasted, a love song to share.
So come, sit awhile, let the world fade away,
In this gem of a place, where palates sway.
For in every bite, every shared glance,
You’ll find the essence of Italy’s dance.

Amazing food and the small restaurant gives it such a cute European feel.

I decided to try this restaurant on the recommendation of an Italian friend. Unfortunately, it was fully booked since I didn’t have a reservation. While I was texting my friend to suggest another place, an unexpected incident happened — the waitress opened a bottle of red wine right in front of me and accidentally sprayed it all over my face, clothes, phone, and bag.
I was completely shocked and stood there expecting her to immediately offer a tissue or at least some help. Instead, she calmly continued removing the cork from the wine opener, as if nothing had happened. Only afterward did she hand me a tissue — with a rather smug smile. She said “sorry,” but her tone and body language showed no genuine regret.
Then she looked at me and said, “I said I’m sorry,” with an attitude that clearly implied, What more do you want? At that point, I got really upset and asked to speak with the manager. She kept repeating that this was the first time something like this had happened, and then, in an almost dismissive way, asked, “Do you have any damage?” — as if I were exaggerating or trying to make trouble.
I honestly couldn’t believe how arrogant and unprofessional the service was. How can a restaurant treat its potential customers this way?

The worst experience! Even with reservation, we waited close to 30 minutes to be seated. They overbook. And the manager is obnoxious and rude! 👎

Service is 12/10. We were given wine while waiting for our table and waiter clearly loved his job. But… food took long time to arrive, portions were rather small, and uncorking fee is now at 35$(!!) I’d give it a 4.5 if I could but alas

Spiga is such a gem! The food is truly authentic Italian, full of fresh ingredients and rich flavors. The ambiance is warm and inviting, but honestly the owners make the experience unforgettable — they treat you like family. A must-visit!

Cute setting and friendly staff and we were excited to try this place based on all the great reviews. Maybe it was just an off night, but the food was unfortunately disappointing. Everything we ordered was very bland, lacking seasoning, creativity, or presentation. One dish was forgotten, and only later did we learn they had several specials that were never mentioned.

The setting and atmosphere are lovely, but unfortunately they don’t make up for the food. The dishes we tried were disappointing, lacking both flavor and quality. While the prices may not seem high for NYC and the UWS, the food felt like something you could make better (and for less) at home. Service was fine: attentive without being pushy, though we weren’t told about the specials which might have been for the best after all…

Small quaint setting. Pasta was good, but the tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had.

We live in Brooklyn and took an hour trip up to eat at this restaurant. We called for a reservation and they confirmed a table for 7 pm. When we arrived, they did not have our reservation listed. They made us sit 20 minutes after our reservation time, before notifying us that they couldn’t give us a table and would not have an open table till 9 pm. They offered us outdoor seating while it was raining (lightly) outside and another table had asked to be moved from the outdoor precisely because of the rain. It was simply a mess and a failure of management to properly follow through.
Put simply, we lost two hours of our day, commuting up to the Upper West Side and headed back home without having been able to eat. Simply because they confirmed a reservation that they didn’t list down, and couldnt provide us a table for.
Disappointed in the restaurant.
