We live in Brooklyn and took an hour trip up to eat at this restaurant. We called for a reservation and they confirmed a table for 7 pm. When we arrived, they did not have our reservation listed. They made us sit 20 minutes after our reservation time, before notifying us that they couldn’t give us a table and would not have an open table till 9 pm. They offered us outdoor seating while it was raining (lightly) outside and another table had asked to be moved from the outdoor precisely because of the rain. It was simply a mess and a failure of management to properly follow through.
Put simply, we lost two hours of our day, commuting up to the Upper West Side and headed back home without having been able to eat. Simply because they confirmed a reservation that they didn’t list down, and couldnt provide us a table for.
Disappointed in the restaurant.
Spiga is a true neighbourhood treasure. This cozy restaurant offers not only delicious food but also incredibly warm and friendly service that keeps us coming back. It’s become a go-to spot for our family. We’ve been dining here regularly, and our daughter (since she was just 3 years old!) has been a devoted fan of the “green pasta,” a pesto dish topped with fresh burrata — it’s always fresh and delicious. Another favourite is the lamb chops, served with beautifully cooked roasted potatoes. The lamb has a charcoal-grilled flavour that’s deeply satisfying. The rustic bread served here is also outstanding. It is the perfect start to any meal. Spiga makes you feel at home, and we feel so lucky to have it right in the neighbourhood.
Hidden gem!
This little Italian neighborhood restaurant is a hidden gem. If you want an elevated version of what your Italian grandmother cooks for you, this is your place.
The carbonara was the best I’ve ever had - perfectly balanced with the crispiest bacon. The chicken parmesan was outstanding, the bolognese was perfection, the all’amastriciana divine.
The kicker is that the owner and staff are incredibly friendly, not to mention also deeply knowledgeable about wine. We had a lovely evening!
Genuinely love this small restaurant. Delicious meal all around, lovely service.

Marco’s new restaurant is a true hidden gem! As the owner, Marco has created an intimate and small setting that feels warm and welcoming. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to this wonderful spot on the upper west side.

Excellent Italian restaurant with reasonably priced entrées and bottles of wine. The interior is small, which makes for a nice intimate setting. We sat outside and enjoyed excellent service. The owner continue to check in on us.
The Salmon was outstanding, as was the tiramisu!

Be careful about ordering online at their website. We ordered right after 6pm and the email response said the food would be ready at 7:10. We waited until 7:30 only to find out they canceled the order at 7:22 with no notification or explanation.
Note - we love Spiga which is why this was a disappointment. We used to go there before they moved and we continued to go there. This isn't about the food but the danger of ordering from their website. You'll see that they responded that the problem was with the delivery website, not them. The same warning holds, even if it is not directly Spiga's responsibility.

They scammed us! We asked for a wine that costed 39 dollars and gave us another wine of 55 and made us pay for it!

Had an early dinner there on my birthday with my family, everyone had a smile through out the whole meal! (As i have middle school age kids, that says something.) The food was a joy, will 100% be back.

A small gem a few blocks from home! Food was great, fresh and unique taste compared to other Italian restaurants. It is very small and most of the customers were regulars who come very often … and we understand why.

unfortunately this is not a good review. i was so excited to try this restaurant as we always walk past it and notice it while we run errands or walk to other restaurants/bars in neighborhood and it looks lively and cute.
we read the reviews and were excited to go in as it was all looking as it would be a great experience.
well it started it out great we called made a ressie last minute and they said sure no problem 8:30 for 3 people would be fine. we show up and they didn’t ask for our ressie which is fine but assumed we wanted a table for 2 which we clarified and said no we called ahead and said it’d be for 3 people. no issue we got seated and water was immediately brought to table and menus. shortly after the server asked if we wanted any drinks and we ordered wine & some apps no issues. they kept checking in on us no problem through out which was amazing and we said we’d order dinner after wine and apps. it seems the owner and maybe family members were all serving which made it seemed like a family owned establishment and they were all working together to buss/serve. then it just all turned. one of the servers took forever to clear our app plates (which were kinda mediocre for the price. we got the caprese with buffalo & the carpaccio which was actually pretty decent) and ask if we needed anything which whatever it happens when it’s a bit busy i understand but it just got worse. we had to ask someone to take our dinner order after awhile of sitting there. mind you we had an 8:30 ressie so 2 hours before closing. once our dinner plates were dropped off around 9:30-9:45 ish no one ever checked in or offered cheese or anything. thankfully we had asked for some pepper earlier for the apps bc my pasta was in desperate need of something. i ordered the special with shrimp and it was so undercooked and dry?? like 0 sauce. whatever little sauce it had and shrimp was pretty decent actually. it was so sad overall as i was so excited to try out the food. my partners pasta (squid ink linguine) was overdone but had flavorful sauce which made up for it. we were done with our wine and waters and no one came to refill or ask if we needed anything else. it seemed like they were more interested in 2 other tables around as the servers just kept chatting with the tables. anyway as we sat with our empty pasta dishes.
(we think sending back food is so rude and also complaining doesn’t get us anywhere) we were willing to let it go and maybe get some dessert and more wine bc there’s nothing that can’t be fixed with more wine and sweets BUT they literally never checked in again with us. closing time was approaching and nothing?? we kept being like oh well they’re busy they’ll check in eventually. well eventually came and it was almost 10:30. i stood up and told one of the servers that we needed our bill. he brought it over in 5 seconds and took our card. like ??? he could’ve checked in on us 45 mins ago??? like what in the world. no dessert or wine or asked if everything was okay happened so we paid and left.
i’m only writing this to let people know of our experience and the restaurant to perhaps do better? im sure maybe some will have different experiences and that’s ok. i rarely write reviews but our experience left such a sour taste in our mouths i just wanted to share. sadly we won’t be returning and friends already asked about how it went and we told them about our experience. we’re chill and understanding but this took the cake for the most blase no cares given at all dinner.

This was an unreal dinner. A whim recommendation from a waitress at the bar lead us here. Luigi took great care of us! Fettuccini bolognese with mushroom cream (one of the best pastas I have ever had, I will spend years trying to recreate it), the softest gnocchi in the world, lamb chops, burrata... All washed down with limoncello spritzs. Bubbly rose and canoli for dessert. A walk down the park back to the hotel as a digestif. One for the books.
