Nice, small, tidy and efficient. My only issue - you read off of a flavor menu and they pack the box all behind the counter. When I got home they were neatly packaged and secure. However, they were NOT labeled! As this was my first time there I had no way of separating them to share. The green one was matcha, outside of that NO CLUE. Literally a chose your own adventure item. Not ideal for picky eaters or folks with allergies. Had to cut open the mystery items and smell them. I e has no smell🙄

Loved this hidden gem! So many Asian-inspired flavors—sesame, matcha, and purple yam were all amazing. The cakes are soft, moist, and not too sweet—perfect for an Asian palate. At just $1.50 each, they’re super affordable! The owner was also incredibly kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Omg so yummy. The texture is perfect, but make sure to get a drink as well, as it makes you parched.

Spectacular
Excellent small coffee and cake place. Probably one of the last places you can get coffee, a cake and a seat for 3 or 4 dollars. The sponge cakes are a delight, especially the coconut.

I highly recommend! Came to New York with a classmate. Her daughter recommended we try Spongies and we’re so glad we did. They taste absolutely amazing! We even went back the next day to order a dozen more so we could bring some home to our family.

Excellent and incredibly affordable spongies! The coffee and matcha are highly recommend!
My only suggestion would be to improve the plastic lid on the drinks, as they can get a bit messy.

Quite a discovery. Very spongy muffin-type cakes with many flavors. Very good quality-price ratio. Very attentive and family treatment.

I haven’t seen this many flavors of sponge cake! In this quaint cafe, you can try a variety of flavors such as pandan coconut and Thai tea. And super reasonably priced too! Basically all of the flavored ones are $1.50, and the original is $1.
The pandan coconut tasted like the egg roll cookies, which I loved. The Thai tea had a light Thai tea fragrance and taste. It could have tasted more like Thai tea. Between the two, I preferred the pandan. I’d love to come back to try more flavors!
Both were light as clouds. Absolutely delightful!
