This cafe is great. It has clearly labeled vegan and gluten free items. We got the Not Your Every Day Nachos and the Vegan Poke Bowl. Both were yummy and the house made nacho cheese was especially good. They also had house nut milk for their Chai Latte.
I had to get the lemon poppy seed muffin on the way out which was one of the most moist gluten free baked goods I have had.
You order at the counter and they give you a number to bring to your table so you can choose where to sit. They have free Wi-Fi if you want to bring your laptop and work.
The bathrooms are clean which is always a plus. There's one single on the first floor as well as gender neutral stalls in the basement.
I was a second time customer of Spring Cafe Aspen and heard about the restaurant due to its seed oil free environment. What I eat is super important to me.
2 days ago I dinned at the W 4th street location. I ordered a Latte, the nachos, and the Chickpea Hummus. I realized that I had ordered too much food so I immediately asked my waiter to pack the chickpea hummus meal to go. He took it away and placed it in an enclosed to-go container and in a brown paper bag stapled shut. I ate the nachos and latte onsite and I saved the chickpea pita meal for dinner tonight.
That evening, as I took several bites into one half of the sandwich, I noticed a live white worm/maggot crawling along side the pita and actively “eating” the scraps of food. I immediately spit out the food, took pictures, threw the meal away, and called the restaurant mortified by what I saw. I spoke with Eric who said to email holly the manager with my complaint. By sharing my name, he was able to pull up my order in the system. I emailed my complaint to the manager named Holly sharing the below photos requesting a full refund, but never heard back. I’ve called twice but the manager never seems to be around. I will never eat here again due to the unsanitary food environment and poor customer service. It’s been 2 days and I never heard a response from the restaurant.
This has never happened to me before.
I am very grossed out by what I saw, and could have ingested. I will never eat here again.
Been vegan for 13 years and this has quickly become my new favorite lunch spot in the city. It’s not overpriced, large quantities, incredibly tasty and healthy. The menu is large and diverse. Everything I’ve had here has been amazing - burrito, burger, spinach artichoke dip, nachos…I can’t recommend enough. If you were a fan of Organic Grill this place scratches the same itch. Finally a new vegan place that isn’t just junk food or reheated impossible burgers. GO HERE U WONT REGRET IT!
2nd visit , unfortunately very understaffed. Waiter is wonderful, but can’t run the entire restaurant by himself.
Cashier is deaf
Juice was good, the falafel wrap was not, the place could use a routine clean-up, and the prices are outrageous when compared to the quality of food.
I’m trying to find something nice to say… The coffee was terrible, the food was mediocre. And to add additional injury, I paid as though I was eating fine dining. What a waste.
Waited 45 minutes for a 5/10 $13 smoothie. Extremely overpriced. You’re not paying for the food quality or service, so who knows where the money goes?
What a beautiful beautiful cafe with a window to the city that’s hella aesthetic. The vibes of the cafe was also extremely artistic. Food was simply delicious.
The food is mid, especially for the price. I'd try somewhere else.

Went here with my NYU daughter in-between her classes for a lunch. BEST nachos I've had in my life! The atmosphere was great. My only issue about service was that her smoothie came after she got her meal. Otherwise, it was a great experience!
From the time I walked in the door, I didn't feel very welcome and the whole experience felt disorganized and uncomfortable. You order at the counter, but there's no menu on the wall so you have to make your way to the counter (which is crowded with people) to find a menu. The staff mostly ignored people until THEY were ready to take your order, no "hi, we'll be with you in a minute". I ordered the vegan Caesar salad with tofu and my friend the stuffed pepper. We took our number and sat and waited a long time for the food. The table next to us flagged down the server at one point and asked why their food was taking so long, so it wasn't just us. When it finally came, my friend's food was lukewarm and my salad was big, but the lettuce was rusty looking and they forgot to add the tofu. Overall a disappointing experience. I might go back at some point in the future. I know they're fairly new so maybe they're just getting their bearings.
This place served me goat cheese on a sandwich and told me it was vegan
This place served me a sandwich with goat cheese and told me it was vegan. Everything on the menu has a “V” on it and I asked if that meant everything was vegan. The dude taking my order said yes. Clearly they need to train their staff better. However, the website also says everything is vegan but that’s clearly not the case.
Surprisingly I don't have trouble finding a spot to sit. The Americano was decent.
