I ordered a large hot chocolate but I wasn't happy when they only filled up the cup 3/4 till the top. I told them this, and they siad okay we'll add more, and again, it was still 3/4 of the way filled... i wasn't going to go back a second time to ask them again... but i think what happens is that they warm the milk or whipcream and then it settles down and you're left with 1/4 of your cup empty. Which is frustrating bec i ordered a large bec i needed a large. But I did give it 3 stars bec the hot chocolate was good.

I can’t stand this Starbucks. I only come here because it’s right next to where I have class. Every. Single. Time. they’re out of something. One day it’s cup lids, one it’s plant milk, one it’s regular milk, one it’s change. Don’t count on this Starbucks for your coffee.

Long wait, rude people, bad pastries.

This spot is the perfect place to study and sip tea: enough space to spread out, free wifi, and an outlet to recharge your tech devices.

My family and I have regularly visited this Barnes and Noble Store on our visits to New York and have very much enjoyed our time here. My husband is an avid fan of the vinyl records tucked away on the second floor, while my daughter enjoys scouring the Barnes & Noble exclusive editions of hardback classics just beyond the records. The staff are incredibly helpful and are willing to provide any advice on books when asked. In particular, my daughter was unsure which edition of the Constitution of the United States to purchase due to some versions being expanded in different editions and the team member she spoke to was very patient and knowledgeable in helping her find the version which would be most appropriate to her PhD studies. On our last day of the trip, my daughter decided to return to the store to purchase the other version of the Constitution she had forwent for the version she already had so we made a quick visit in to purchase this. When my daughter went to pay in the vinyl records section of the store due to it being much quieter, the staff member _____ was incredibly unwelcome and dismissive. My daughter politely asked if she could pay at this register and the book was promptly snatched off of her with no words from ____. My daughter then handed her $30 to which this was also abruptly taken and then a “You got 5 cents? Because I have no change.” Was rudely uttered. I luckily had some in my wallet and was able to provide this, before the book was stuffed in the bag and handed back. I am absolutely outraged by this service and so shocked in comparison to the lovely members you have working in your store. I believe that this employee could very much do with some training in customer service as she does not fit the message that your company promotes. Very disappointed.

Over priced place, especially considering that the main customers are students and staff.

Good spot for a quick bite, with usually plentiful outdoor seating. Café and seating area are kept clean.

The Barnes and Noble Cafe is conveniently located at the very western end of 168th Street as it turns the corner at Haven Avenue. It’s directly across from the New York Psychiatric Institute‘s entrance at 40 Haven Avenue. The cafe has a great team of hosts who remember their customers, even when they are masked! Today after not being at the cafe for a few months, I received such a warm greeting when I ordered my almond latte that I wanted to give the guy a hug! I didn’t since we are respecting social distancing! They no longer offer seating inside the cafe but they have seating outside.
