After going to gym, I walked around and found this Starbucks on the corner of 3rd and 53rd. Huge windows over both streets so easy to find it. Rather large inside space with lots of seating. I ordered a coffee and it was nice and strong. Very fast and friendly service. Busy but I still found a seat by the window. Great spot to people watch.

Starbucks coffee has become so commoditized as to function like a utility, not unlike electricity or gas; our veins and arteries now course with caffeine instead of plasma. But this particular coffeehouse on third ave signals a welcome change—not so much in the coffee as in the coffeehouse itself. It feels like a living room, one that encourages you to linger, to see and be seen, to form community. The service—especially from the manager—has a real humanity. I was seduced by the interior décor: wide sofas, thoughtful lighting, a sense of airiness. Since I’m not especially social, perhaps they could also provide me with a robot to talk to. I wonder if this is what church service should be like where homilies are delivered in cafes?

Very clean store with a modern look and super friendly staff. Service was quick and welcoming, and everything felt well organized. The only downside was the music – it was played way too loud, which made it almost impossible to have a phone call inside. Other than that, a great Starbucks location and worth visiting.

I went to this location to purchase Italian roast coffee beans and the supervisor-Destiny was so kind and efficient. She put a bag aside for me & I was able to purchase it without any delay as soon as I reached the store! Thank you! This location has smart, efficient, and sincere staff.

Great service at this location. Destiny went above and beyond to find mobile orders for people who arrived. I was not expecting this and I saw how on it she was.
Starbucks used to be a place you could read a book for hours, occasionally buying drinks, but now the staff have been instructed to harass you if you are not constantly making purchases. At this store in particular, you can barely sit two minutes without being asked to buy something or leave. The death of yet another third place will ultimately be a disaster for their company, but I am glad it’ll benefit the current CEO’s bonus packet in the meantime.
