Staff was lovely . The food was undercooked from the bacon to the grains while the sword fish was overcooked and tough ... all the food was poorly seasoned. Price point would have been okay if the food was better.

A nice addition to a neighborhood highly recognized for its delicious and varied Asian cuisine. This is the second time I've visited State for lunch. Yummy Modern American menu, but prices are kinda high. Service is outstanding.

The service was phenomenal and very gracious. My food was over salted so I couldn't eat it and they kindly took it back and did not charge me and gave me a free dessert. The appetizers were OK, pigs in a blanket were not very good. But the artichoke dip was excellent And my guest loved the steak frites.

We had a really wonderful business lunch here. My cobb salad was absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. Our server was SO nice. The space was beautiful and quiet, so it was easy to have conversation. We will definitely be back!

Really happy with this experience. To be honest I thought it might be a bit of a tourist trap as I booked the Prix Fixe menu whilst booking my Empire tickets. I have to say I was wrong. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is great (just the right size portions) and very tasty. The Tomato Soup, Calamari, Salmon and Steak Frites all hit the spot perfectly. Soft drinks were included too! Really great value at about 45 dollars per person. We were delighted. The decor give a sense of occasion. All the staff were super friendly and efficient and professional. Sorry I haven;t got names as I need glasses but they could all ' take a bow'. Give this a whirl, I don;t think you'll regret it and, as I say, the value for money on the prix fixe menu was outstanding for NYC. Thanks everyone. Loved it.

I visited State Bar and Grill with my 14-year-old grandson. The hostess and waitress were very hospitable. The food was amazing. My picky grandson was blown away by the NY strip steak. Highly recommend this restaurant. We'll be going back again when in NYC.

Great food and great service. A party was going on and it was extremely loud so the ambiance of a nice dinner with my wife on our first trip to NYC was a slight letdown.

But what truly set this experience apart was the customer service. Every staff member upheld such a high standard of care, and our waiter in particular stood out as an expert. He guided us through the menu and drinks with thoughtful insight, knew exactly when to step back and when to step in, and carried it all with a refined sense of humor that elevated the entire evening.
