FAVORITE SUSHI. Service is awkward and vibe is not great. Worth it for the sushi tho.

Worse nigiri ever, they have no idea how to roll a bit of rice, absolutely no idea. Service so long for some cold fish, incredible bad experience

I recently had lunch at Sugarfish, and it was an outstanding experience! We opted for the "Trust Me" option, which is a pre-made tasting experience that lets you try a variety of dishes. This included fresh edamame, tuna sashimi—definitely the highlight of the meal—along with albacore and Japanese yellowtail sushi which were both exceptional.
The atmosphere was quiet and delicate, creating a perfect setting for our meal. The service was quick and attentive, enhancing our overall enjoyment.
Overall, Sugarfish exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for great sushi!

That was not my first visit to SUGARfish. Previously, I have been to their branches in California, but it exceeded all my expectations!

I think I love everything about this place: the food that delights your taste buds with unexpected twists or simply melts in your mouth; the attentive and helpful service; and the atmosphere that elevates the entire dining experience, making it a full 360.

I always go for the Trust Me menu—it never disappoints. Honestly, I’m so satisfied with it that I can never get enough.

SUGARfish, please expand to Europe!

The food was generally delicious. The only downside was that the course meal was served too late. The food started coming out, and when one was finished, the next dish came, but it felt a bit boring... You can only eat the course meal if you come with plenty of time.

Affordable nigiri and hand roll set. The quality matches the price. Nothing outstanding, there were a lot of repetitive flavor profiles but the quality was nice.

To be honest the fish was kind of meh. We sat at the bar, I got the “trust me” set. Tuna and albacore tasted fine but the texture was off and very soft. Best piece was the blue & Dungeness crab roll. The service was also just fine, I feel like the pieces were barely introduced. For an omakase experience it’s definitely affordable but I’d rather just pay more and have good omakase.

Honestly, so disgusting I stopped eating halfway through my omakase. The restaurant is very tight so the waiter stood very close to us to take our order. I hate typing this out but literally, his hands smelled like feces. Like he didn’t wash his hands after using the bathroom. So gross. Then I found a piece of hair in my edamame that was way too short and the wrong color to be mine. I tried the sushi, imo not great quality and the cuts were too thick. But honestly, I was just so disgusted it might have tasted fine, I was just too biased at that point. The waiter who had bad hand hygiene started delivering our plates of food and put his hands on the rim of my glass when he dropped it off, that’s when I stopped eating.

They brought out a lot of sushi! Each fish a winner! No bad fish!
I appreciate a curated experience. Don’t expect me to know anything! I am clay. I am baby. I am here to listen with my tongue.

Based on crazy good reviews, we decided to try this place. My companion owns 2 sushi restaurant in Tokyo, and I grew up in the 5 generations of sushi restauranteurs. First off, they don't take reservation. The wait was an hour. The ticketing was smooth but the wait was exclusiating. The restaurant has very bad acoustic and noise of semi drunk groups was a torture. The menu was interesting with reasonable prices. About the sushi, the positive was the warm rice, and a few pieces of topping was nice and fresh (including properly thawed sweet shrimp that retained the just caught texture). Seaweed was nice and crisp. But sushi rice was too salty, too sweet and overwhelmed the taste of topping. Crab roll had odd sweetness (not from the rice) and was a bit strange. Sliced fish was on and off - some had too fishy hint, which bothered us. Other slices were mislabeled - could it be the translation by the restaurant or they were mislabeled at the market? And the dry house sake that came in a cute little bottle was.... stale? There was some funky taste to it. Over all, we were not sure why this place has such a great review. I can only guess that maybe the customers really don't know what quality sushi is. Another small thing - the way fish was sliced and rice was formed were both unattractive and let's say just simply wrong. Needless to say I never want to go there, again.
