Food is excellent, service is crap as always… they’re always in a hurry, rushing you and then yelling “ANYTHING ELSE” at the checkout
Extreme rude server- I go there very often and the salad portion they gave me gets smaller and smaller. Now I’m getting 4 leaves for a $15 salad. I didn’t ask for a bigger portion. At least it needs to be consistent. The server talked to me as if I’m making no sense and “donated” a few more leaves to me. Not to mention the salad was so salty. It was one of my favorite spots but not visiting again.
Pleasant and welcoming spot to pause at during walk from Times Square to the Village. Not a churn and burn tourist spot.
Ordered my sandwich with no onions or spicy sauce here is what I got
Good but seems too expensive for what it is
Really one of the best bakeries in town. ALLLLL the flat square pizza are excellent, the glazed donut is beyond (best donut! This should be better known), the chocolate chip cookie, mortadella sandwich, bombolone, the olive or tomato stick, the pecorino flatbread when it’s hot!!! Aargh amazing
Taste good
The guy with the mask and ponytail has the worst attitude I’ve ever seen in the service industry. This place use to have a lovely staff Idk what happened.
I got the brioche sandwich with eggs and prosciutto and it was so disappointing. When I ordered, I asked the girl helping me if this sandwiches were heated up to which she said yes and popped it in the oven for like five minutes. When I got it, the bread was very hot and the eggs were still cold. When I asked her about it again, she goes “if I put it back in the bread will get burnt, these sandwiches aren’t meant to be hot”. I would’ve have ordered it had I known it was going to be cold like that - who wants cold scrambled eggs…?
Lie about delivery order

Let me start off with saying that this bakery is fantastic. They make yummy breads, pastries and sandwiches but after seeing their updated sandwich sizes I have to say something. You cannot in good faith charge $14 for a sandwich nub. Especially when you make your own bread. There is no way that your food cost is that high that you can justify $14 for these sandwiches.
I understand that they may be trying to make up for slower business or something internally but this is not the way to do it. I fear this will turn away even more customers. Please reconsider your sandwich sizing/ pricing.

Went here to try their bombolini (or whatever italian donut thing is called). That was good.
Also got a roast beef sandwich. Was expecting them to heat it up but they didn't (or maybe they asked and I wasn't listening). Either way was decent but would have been better warm.
The bombolini was great. Got the cream flavor and donut was nice and soft and not oily. Cream was creamy.

This place was sweet and delicious a while back but now it’s overpriced for small quantities and the quality of food is spotty. Don’t order the egg tomato dish if you’re hungry it’s tiny. Also the music was blaring in the morning to an uncomfortable level and was bad. I’m not sure what kind of vibe they are going for anymore. It was not a pleasant experience. Maybe inflation is killing it all. Also too much bacon on everything!!

the worst breakfast ever, they serve you pickled vegetables in broth, they are grumpy and their food makes you sick to your stomach. after leaving everything you ordered there and paying $40, they even force you to clean up the table.

I’ve been coming here for a few years. I love the La Mortadela sandwich, but they recently cut the portion size in half. It’s wild to me that they are charging $14 for this half of a sandwich. Please reconsider your portion sizes or pricing here. Especially when All’Antico down the street is charging $18 for an exceptional, large sandwich. It’s difficult to justify spending so much on so little food as a regular.
