I went with my friend. Our eyes burned insanely, then they say it’s because they cut onion in the kitchen. Besides, the sushi wasn’t great and the spicy tuna isn’t really spicy tuna, just a tuna with spicy mayo spread.

One of the best sushi I've EVER had!!! Cute little place, they make the food right in front of you, everything is super fresh and tasty. We visited twice, and both times there was no crowd. Friendly and helpful staff, amazing flavors, and such reasonable prices!!! A must-visit!

Possibly the best local sushi we’ve had. Extremely high quality. It’s become our regular spot. Staff is very friendly and accommodating as well.

The quality of the fish is so good compared to the price. Other sushi takeout spots that offer a similar menu would charge double the amount here so I definitely think this place is well worth the price. Fav was the scallop and salmon nigiri.

THIS IS THE BEST TAKEOUT IN NYC!!!!! This tastes like 5 start omakase to go. Their sushi is so fresh, their staff is so nice when you eat inside, and their sushi counter is small and super intimate. I’m OBSESSED with their sushi premium box which comes with the best toro roll ever and all the best pieces of nigiri. Their ikura is outstanding, i live for their uni, and all of there toro is TO DIE!!! I also love their 3 roll box combo. their best roll is spicy scallop. ORDER ASAP?????♥️✨

The restaurant was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. The food quality was good, but the portion size was small. It's not as good as Sushi 35 West, IMO, but a good sushi restaurant overall.. I'm comparing the 2 restaurants because they are very similar in terms of their menu and their operations model. It's not a bad sushi place if you wanted some sushi in the area. The price is relatively low for a sushi restaurant that serve imported fish from Japan, like many high-end sushi restaurants that cost a lot more money (saw their shipping box outside).

Fish somehow flavorless. Waiter took my plate before I was finished eating, she did the same with another person. The price for the food is decent. No bathrooms- if you don’t have any, at least know where to direct customers to.

Really great sushi spot if youre looking for a take out option. Better than the local places and fresher than Kazu Nori, sugar fish

Great lunch specials at this tiny sushi counter! I love the tuna don and sashimi lunch special. Exceptionally delicious fish. Dine in if you can — the counter service was quick despite the lunch delivery rush.

This high-quality takeout omakase is a standout choice for sushi aficionados. The buttery tuna melts in your mouth, delivering rich, savory flavors. The o-toro and chu-toro are particularly amazing, with their luxurious textures and deep, satisfying taste. The sea urchin is equally exquisite, with a fresh, creamy texture that exemplifies top-tier seafood. Each piece is expertly crafted, ensuring a gourmet dining experience right at home. For those seeking premium sushi takeout, this omakase is an exceptional option.

? Sushi 295 Mercer: A Hidden Gem in Greenwich village ?Nestled cleverly at the name address, Sushi 295 Mercer is a delightful surprise. It’s not easy to spot from the outside, especially for fast walkers. Once you step inside, you see a counter with just 4 chairs, but believe me - you’re in for a treat. Here’s why Sushi 295 Mercer stands out:Quality Fish: The owner focus is on top-notch fish. For just $23, you get a generous lunch meal of twelve sashimi, along with sushi rice on the side. The fish practically melts in your mouth, with exquisite flavors. I loved the sushi rice (not many places pay particular attention to it) – it was just the right texture, temperature, and the delicate taste – bravo!Authentic Experience: The ambiance is cozy, not vested much in interior design – but in the food. It feels local, fits well into the neighborhood, and the friendly staff adds to the warm atmosphere.Omakase Option: If you feel adventurous, they also have 12 pieces sushi omakase.I went for Sushi & Sashimi dinner set of 6 nigiri and 9 sashimi accompanied by a toro roll (some extra). Still remember the taste of each piece, from yellowtail to salmon to scallop to tuna to toro. Exquisite!Trust me, it is worth exploring. Whether you’re dining solo or grabbing takeout, whether you’re after exquisite sashimi or grabbing a spicy roll, Sushi 295 Mercer delivers quality sushi.Expect lines at times —word has spreading about this hidden gem!Excellent value for your money.Highly recommend.
