This was my first Omakase experience, and it was excellent. Just a little work get-together that turned out to be a memorable one for sure. I've eaten all over, but if you"re looking to be treated like family and have some really -perfect- sushi, this is the place for you!

Be cautious for the entire experience- they claimed 60min but it’s actually ONLY 45min. No matter you are having 12 or 17 courses. It felt very very rush. When I asked the waiter, he said it’s “UP TO 60min”.
They will also charge you mandatory 20% tips based on the total value. So even if you have 5 extra courses free upgrade, they will charge you mandatory 20% on top of the 17 courses value. It didn’t feel right when you were forced to pay something you did not agree or aware of from the beginning.

I didn’t expect the omakase and service to be this good! The speakeasy vibe, curated sake and cocktails, and vibrant modern design make it a perfect spot for quality sushi and Instagram shots as well. They even customize sushi based on allergies and preferences. A customer next to me literally swap four pieces with no issue. Highly recommend!

Absolutely horrendous experience at Sushi by Bou in Chelsea. My reservation was booked for 8 PM, supposedly for an hour, yet the entire meal was rushed and wrapped up in 36 minutes—far less than what was paid for. The moment we were handed the check, we paid through a well-known app, which was allowed by the restaurant, only for them to suddenly add more charges at the last second. I was then charged TWICE for the bill.
When I questioned the manager about these fraudulent charges, I was met with the nastiest attitude. Rather than addressing the issue professionally, he blamed me, saying that I must have done something on my end.—why on earth would I charge myself twice for a single dinner?
It gets worse. When I requested a printed receipt, the manager ripped off the top of it before handing it over. And when I asked to see what was missing, he rudely refused and said, “That’s not for you to see.” If that isn’t suspicious, I don’t know what is. Period.
As we were leaving, the manager followed us out of the restaurant, screaming for us to come back. I am not a child, and I will NOT be screamed at or treated with disrespect by some unprofessional staff who clearly don’t know the basics of customer service.
Oh, and the food? Mid at best. Fish quality was nothing special, and the entire experience was ruined by the blatant scamming and disgusting customer service. How this place is still in business is beyond me. Avoid at all costs.
